Love the little ...Bird photos always make me smile. Love the little feather pom-poms. These feathery friends visit me every morning. I fill up bird feeders, put fresh water in the birdbaths and then stand at my kitchen window with a hot cup of tea admiring their industriousness. Some must have nests on my magnolia tree as they quickly pick up seeds and go up the tree. They must repeat the trip about 10 to 15 times, and the woodpeckers are funny. When all the other birds have eaten they come down and busy themselves eating the seeds that fall between the cracks of the bricks on the floor. There are also plenty of doves. These two in particular are always together and I named them Clara and William after the old owners of the place :)Yesterday, one of the other doves hit my kitchen window and fell to the ground. I cried like a baby, got old of my garden gloves and a soft bath towel (for not knowing what else to do) and went to its rescue. The poor thing could barely move with the shock of the impact, it stayed there very still, blinking at my approach, and let itself be placed cozy in the makeshift nest of my bath towel. I tried to give it water but refused. I petted its head and said how sorry I was, but i had to leave for work and left it there with some water and seeds. When my daughter came from school the dove was gone. And here I am now hoping the little dove is safe out there...Isabelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02681951546653165197noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1785795575454502378.post-7412176136737056882009-06-10T21:57:01.444-07:002009-06-10T21:57:01.444-07:00What nice little birdies you have in your yard!
