Watery Wednesday ~ Carnarvon Gorge, Queensland

Thank you all for visiting and leaving comments which I treasure.
I am sorry I cannot at present return the compliment. It is as
much as I can manage to put up a post.

Fingerlings restocking the river for Heron takeaways.

Some evidence along the riverbank of the recent massive storm
flood that roared down the gorge uprooting large trees and
washing away great boulders set as stepping-stone crossings,
ripping out steel ladders cememted into sheer cliffs and generally
creating havoc.
Now the river is deceptively calm and benign but beware of
thunderstorms further up stream!

The Logo will open waterways around the world.

Thanks to 2sweetnsaxy we can all join in the fun.

  2. I am always surprised at how resilient fish are in streams and somehow manage to stay in one place, more or less, while the power of the water around them moves giant boulders.

  3. Gorgeous images here Arija.

One of my brothers on law once ran the pharmacy at Carnvon. I visited him, but it's a long time ago now.

Thanks for reviving the memories. Take care now.

  6. I love these photos. I did a post too about rivers and fishing. My husband is a fly fisherman and works hard to protect the streams and the fish that live there.

  9. Arija, I hope you will feel better soon. Taking care of yourself is most important. Please keep us updated if you can. Much healing energy and blessings are sent your way.

These are beautiful captures. I am way behind reading posts, so I can only assume you've had some heavy storms. I know you need the water, but big and fast doesn't usually help, just scour the land.

  10. Beautiful photos.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog and leaving a lovely comment. I've been browsing back through some of your photos and your flower photos are supurb. I also liked the photos of the Brolgas. We have the Sandhill Crane migrate through Fairbanks every spring and fall and they look very similar. I'll be back to visit.

  11. Hello,
I do hope you are ok?! and even better. It is ok if you can not visit. I see your name and I just want to check in with you. The second image must be the calm after the storm. Wishing you days that feel wonderful to you.
