Choices on the Horizon

Life sometimes veers into unexpected directions when you least
expect it.

You build up a life that rolls along like a contented coal train
then, without you noticing, after going along in a straight line
for decades, a fork appears . . .
cracking your self confidence. How to tackle what you
least expected? Your ordered, if not orderly existence, is turned
on its head. It creeps up on you for years, you try to close your
eyes . . . till one day you can not look past it any more. You have
to face the unpleasant truth and accept the unremitting changes
in the very fabric of your life.
Often when we are at our lowest, life springs another lesson on us
and we just have to cope.

  1. I know that feeling, Arija. Sometimes I feel like I just have to go with the flow and try to keep my nose above the water. Beautiful shots.

  2. Oh so very true Arija. Yet without those forks in life's path we might get too complacent, and change often turns out to be a good lesson.

  4. I think Gaelyn is right, sometimes those forks in the road are difficult, but do often turn out to be a good lesson. Whatever your path, Arija, I hold good thoughts and send you much love.

  7. I hope this is not as ominous as it sounds, do take the best of those forks and find something to keep you interested.
    All the best.

  8. Beautiful photos! Yes, life can go along smoothly and we get very comfortable with how things are, but life is always changing, like the ebb and flow of the tide. We can only go with it, and hope we have the strength to find and embrace the good things that the changes bring us. Good luck to you in meeting your challenges.
