SkyWatch - Another Wirrealpa Sunset

Before we left Wirrealpa Station to go to Arkaroola, the evening
sky put on another splendid show for us.

They day had been hot with the sun really biting.

Hard to imagine that a mere 700km south, it was already so cold
that we had our electric blankets in use.

Somehow in the dry inland, sunrises and sunsets are so much
more spectacular than at home.

A windmill always helps although we have a few at home too.

Happy skywatching everyone!

  19. Hi there - at times one could be forgiven for thinking that the only purpose of windmills is to add a certain something to photographs! Very nice set of pictures.

  22. How spectacular, arija! I like it when setting sun paints the sky orange-gold while darkness has already fallen on the ground. The dark silhouetted windmill is impressive. At the inland desert, the sunset colors look more intense than other places with moderate climate. What a blessing you could end the day with such breathtaking colors.

Thank you for your kind words contained in your comment. On your wish, I included her photo at the age of 100 dressed in indigo kimono.

  29. Arija..I don't know what the problem with the comment box is on my blog. It is smaller than Blogger and clicking on the 'leave a comment' makes it bigger...One of the new goslings was grabbed by a hawk which the parents fought off and it ran into the pond, but was mortally wounded and died in my hands when I took it out..sad and the hawk's chicks went hungry too....Geese are such very social creatures...Michelle

  33. I love that you said "the sun really biting" ...I always here that about cold weather (biting cold, biting wind)....but I've never heard biting sun before...but living in Florida, I understand it perfectly.

Your sunset was beautiful though and well worth the biting hot day! Thanks for sharing.
