With just one little click they grow in size, do try it.
I saw the glow and raced ourside, my car was on fire
others may grab for a bucket of water, not me, I
lift my camera and snap as fast as I can
I almost shattered my side mirror blazing away
never making it to the vantage point ...
the sun had risen I'd missed the show and the cloudless
sky was just a bore.

ReplyDeleteShalom dear Arija. I have just now been catching up on all the beautiful and poetic posts of yours and came to the sad news of your brother.
ReplyDeleteMay his memory be a blessing and may the mourners be comforted.
Peace and love to you.
Arija, I'm so glad you didn't have any water - what a heavenly conflagration! I really like the peaceful sunrise on your former post, too. Hope you are doing well.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful blaze, you were quick and clever to capture it!!
ReplyDeleteI normally only see the sunrise when I am on my way, early, to the beach!! Thanks for giving me a glimpse on an ordinary day!!
ReplyDeleteThese cameras of ours sure can fuel these lovely distractions. I am late to work every morning because of blogging or photographing distractions!
ReplyDeleteLovely shots:)
Hallo Arija,
ReplyDeletezunächst Hochachtung für deinen "My World" Beitrag # 32.
Zauberhaft dein gleissender Sonnenuntergang, du hast den richtigen Zeitpunkt erwischt.
Ein schönes Wochenende.
Gruss Hartmut
Oh what beautiful photos. I tried to capture a stunning sunrise behind our moving car (speeding along the Freeway to the airport on Tuesday) but even though I took dozens, I failed miserably. Without the flash, all was a blur, with the flash, I caught the closed window,. I am proud of you. Well done
ReplyDeletelovely captures arija...just lovely. warm and so inviting.
ReplyDeletehave a wonderful weekend.
Lovely sunrise pics Arija - I always think they are so much fresher than sunst pictures.#
ReplyDeleteI hope you are coming to terms with your recent bereavement and are soldiering on.
Oh, Arija! What a glorious sunrise! I'm with Barb, glad you didn't have any water to put out this fire. Fantastic! Have a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeleteFabulous shot! You are so right. One minute it's there and in the next instant it's gone. I've missed many a sunrise running back to the house for my camera. Now I don't go out without it.
ReplyDeleteHappy SWF.
B.
I'm sorry you didn't get to your vantage point in time to capture the sunrise, but the pictures through the mirror of your car are fabulous!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots in the car's side view mirrors.

The elusive adventure! Nice shots, even if you didn't get exactly what you were after.
ReplyDeleteClever photos. Great angles. Funny how photogrpahy is all about the moment. Miss it...and it might never happen the same away again.

ReplyDeleteHaha, I can imagine you chasing the view. Oh I know that too well. Some people may not understand the fascination but you and I know full well that life's gifts do not necesaarily come packaged but free and wild and loose and fleeting!
ReplyDeleteLove how you write your poetry. You may have missed that show but there are more glows everyday. Be careful, don't smash your side mirror. Take care and have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThat is a postcard pretty view of the sky in the reflection, thanks for sharing that beautiful sky with us all in Sky Watch Friday.

ReplyDeleteI am sorry to read about your loss. I didn't know.
Thanks for your visit to my castles, which you will see these next few weeks. About the windows... Yea, this is what I found:
The richest families in the kingdoms used this tax to set themselves apart from the merely rich. They would commission a country home or a manor house whose architecture would make the maximum possible use of windows. In extreme cases they would have windows built over structural walls. It was an exercise in ostentation, spurred by the window tax.[citation needed]
The tax was not repealed until 1851,[5] when it was replaced by House Duty.
Talking about snobbery!
thank you when you visited the home village of pages and beautiful photos here! nice weekend:)
ReplyDeleteGreat reflection from the left mirror of your car! Cool!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend.

Sunsets and sunrises happen surprisingly fast. I found that out once to often. Interesting shots though through the car window.

ReplyDeleteArija, I created a new special award and you are one of its first recipients. Will you please do me the honor of accepting it? Thanks.

;-)
I have enjoyed catching up on your posts below..especially liked all the birds, and a wonderful pinky red sky!
Sounds a bit like you are home again.
lovely pictures even though you say you've missed the show...:)
ReplyDeleteTime is crucial when it comes to sunrise, but your last result here was heavenly nice and inventive.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend!
Perfect sunrise shots in your mirror Arija! I know how it is when you rush to get to that perfect capture, only to have just missed it :-( But no worries, there will be others ;-)
ReplyDeleteAh Arija, you are a different kind of oak. You belong to the class of the Angel Oak at St. Johns (no apostrphe)Island in South Carolina, 1,400+ years old. Not that you are old but your wisdom is ancient and you are my Live Oak, quercus virginianus, magnificnet, spreading and evergreen, does not shed its foliage and with branches constantly reaching out and enveloping.
ReplyDeleteWonderful blaze to catch with your camera!
ReplyDeleteArija: That was a cute story and neat SWF.
ReplyDeleteUtterly beautiful Arija, well done.
