Well, they sure look like the cattle egrets that we have here in the desert! I found two of them last weekend during my afternoon walk. They like to land at one of our local resorts and I see them there almost every day.

Nice example of the peaceful co-existence of species. Kind of looks like two different species in the first? That baby pelican is just too cute. Great captures.

ReplyDeleteDid I go to this same place, we were driving from Queensland to the border of NSW, and at the river, there were many pelicans.
ReplyDeleteMy teaching space is called Kotuku, which means egrets.
I too think they are egrets.

Sorry I could not get closer to the birds, there was a barricade (Health & Safety nonsense).The Egret was one of the larger ones, definitely not a cattle egret.

I guess to have been our of the herons yet not our large blue heron.
I love the shot of the Pelican. A bird I've only ever seen in captivity.
ReplyDeleteNot sure what particular Egrets they are in the first shot, but very handsome. A Heron between them, and the birds behind, very much like our Cormorants here.
I really enjoy seeing the different birds from other countries.

How strange I was feeling when I saw those so inviting red and crispy cherries hanging on the branches...and when I heard you’re munching...LOL I enjoyed the beautiful flowers of your rhododendrons and surprised with the skeleton photo and again, I admired your photos of desert sunrise, water droplets on green leaves, spider web etc....
