Today it rained, well actually it came down cats and dogs and
small elephants, in buckets and tub fulls, overflowing the gutters
along their entire length.
the entire continent for our benefit is a rare event.
This was the single greatest daily rainfall event since 1936!
The pelicans were definitely smiling, this one photographed
in Goolwa last week.

Wonderful... It might have rained huge elephants but the scenery it has left behind and that you so well have captured is amazing!

ReplyDeleteI often say that in places where water is in very short supply I think I can understand why people take off their clothes and run out naked in a rain storm - it must be so refreshing after months of dry weather.

you are so right and since September we have had rather a lot. No wonder we sing about our droughts and flooding rains. We have just come out of one and into another with a biblical plague of locusts as well!

The overflow from our water tanks is causing some unpleasant erosion and all our dams are overflowing. We either get nothing or an over abundance.

We are lucky this year with rain in South Australia. Rarely become wet if it is raining here but yesterday we were throughly soaked. Nice water shots. We might plan a trip to Goolwa this month when it is a bit warmer.
