Shadow Shot Sunday ~ Outback

What we call the Outback in Australia, far away in the hot inland
in the North Flinders Ranges, a place I dearly love, shadows frame
the shearer's quarters at Wirrealpa Station,

lend mystery to a rockface

and magnify the wrought iron struts of an extinct camel saddle.

My photos like to be enlarged.

  3. The arid land has a rough hewn beauty, the soil, gravel and rock formations leaving a solid land under the blue expanse of sky. I am glad you advised us to enlarge the pictures, as the last one looked like snakes before, but are stirrups or something like that. The illusory changes are quite neat!

  5. Both the skywatch, and these photos are a great look at a
part of your country, which we should have a greater knowledge of. Boom & Gary of The Vermilon River, Canada.

  13. Arija....these are beautiful shadow shots. I love seeing photos of Australia. It's my husband's dream to someday visit there...number one place on his list.

Can you believe I got two new lenses for my camera for Christmas and I have yet to try them out.....things are just way too busy around here. I'm leaving for San Diego this coming week on business, but I hope to find a little time to "play" with my new stuff while I'm there. San Diego is a great place to shoot.

Once again, love your photos....will be showing them to my hubby and he can dream of Australia for awhile. :)

    Happy New Year...

  17. Love these! I really wish to visit outback parts of Australia. I've only ever visited crowded cities and coastal areas. I need an outback experience!

Oh yes my feet remain dry as long as I remain indoors. The minute I step outside it's...splosh! At least I'm lucky to have the interior of my house still dry. I'm very thankful for that!

    Have a great week!

  19. That wrought iron strut looks a lot like dried kelp! I love that one the most, but, what beautiful skies-rivals that of what we have here in the South West.
