How I wish our clematis were out here - they are dead brown sticks at present and it will be another three months before they show any colour - beautiful colours.
I love the composition of the first photo seeing the clematis from the back. It is beautiful with the light showing through the flowers. Beautiful photos!
These remind me of my grandmother; she had the whole front of the sleeping porch covered with different clematis. It was beautiful. I cannot grow them here; I think it is too cold and the soil stays too wet. I have to enjoy them from afar....
Luv this story of your clemmie, Arija..have a number of them in my garden here across the Big Pond and I am always amazed how fragile they appear but how tough they really are. Next season I will try to post pikies...grey and sodden here at the moment so I drank up your color, thank you!
gorgeous flowers even when nibbled on. The color is a delight to my wintry eyes.
Thank you for taking to heart what I shared on my blog. I realized after your visit that tomorrow's date is that of my first post 3 years ago. Time flies and blogging is a treasure and you are part of the treasure!
Yup! I know it well: clematis petals half-eaten. Not locusts, but snails and slugs. Same difference though. Shade garden I know, but shade house is a new one on me.
Thank you for these beautiful photos of Clematis which flowers always attracts me with their lovely colors, special beauty and charm. The next door neighbour of mine has them in her garden in this purple color and also in indigo blue which is a real treat to my eyes. The blue one climbs up the iron arc that her husband made for it so that this Clematis formed a big bush that is covered with lovely large flowers which are bloom all summer through and last until the end of the autumn. Her purple Clematis she planted two years ago I think, and it gave its first flowers last year. Dear Aria, thank you very much for your always beautiful and inspired comments that you left on my blog.:-)) Love…Meda

Hooray for clematis! Their colors are so rich, and they are so BIG! I used to have an arched trellis filled with clematis. Ahh, I envy you.

That is a beautiful flower, but I still shudder when I hear clematis- there is an invasive one here that smothers trees.
ReplyDeleteYup!
