SkyWatch & Nature Notes - A horror day

I suppose we must occasionally have days like these . . .

A stormy sky and golden light on the paddock
what's wrong with that?

For one thing, the temperature was hovering around 100F,
the winds were fast furious and had a mind of their own
and the whole state had a blanket total fire ban.

In this virtual oven, I had to drive for an hour to my specialist's
rooms. When I got there, with the scar standing in the searing heat,
I cleverly looked my keys in it.

Having membership in the Royal Automobile Association,
it only took an hour and a half for them to come and break into my car.

Meanwhile, the verdict at my physicians was not a good one.
My heart had markedly deteriorated in the last six weeks since
I saw him.

After this disappointment, the long hot drive home.

Just when you think things are starting to look up,
life throws a spanner into the works.

Hope you are all having a much nicer time!

  10. OMG, I am so sorry! I just put a reply in your comment somewhere (think it's Barb's) where i saw you say about your condition. My very positive good thoughts and prayers go your way. Just stay positive and in good cheers, that will be okay. I can imagine how difficult it is in your country where no one is staying with you, helping you, unlike here where we can pay someone do our domestic chores and help us throughout our lives. God bless and take care.

  14. Not a good day for you Arija ... I'm sure you were thinking " is there anything else that can possibly go wrong" Locked keys in a car in that heat plus the long wait must have been very stressfull. You have captured the golden light beautifully.

  15. I am so so sorry. Just when you think it cannot get any worse - it does. Is there anything which could help or is your specialist just giving you bad news about which you can do nothing? I am sending many, many good wishes your way. This has been such a hard year, and I do hope that 2013 is better.

  18. I am so sorry for your news. What a stressful day. Someone posted this recently and I thought it so lovely.
    I WISH YOU ENOUGH

    I wish you enough sun
    to keep your attitude bright.
    I wish you enough rain
    to appreciate the sun more.
    I wish you enough happiness
    to keep your spirit alive.
    I wish you enough pain
so that the smallest joys in life
    appear much bigger.
    I wish you enough gain
    to satisfy your wanting.
    I wish you enough loss
    to appreciate all you possess.
    I wish you enough hellos
to get you through the final goodbye.

  21. Joining with others here Arija to send much warmth and care your way.
How disappointing to receive such news, and yet such strength in the support that comes your way here.
Along with holding my husband in my heart as he has his aortic valve replacement this Tuesday, you will be there also in my thoughts - you have been so supportive of this procedure.
A tough day for you with the locked car keys, heat, appointment and drive home. You managed. Well done. Those hot days are a challenge for anybody without such stress factors thrown in.
