deep, deep red and smelling like chrysanthemums of old
look into their hearts and you get sharp crab claws
and delicate trumpets for angels to blow

The mum is such a beautiful color -- and a gold-medal winner for size and perfection too; wonderful macros on both flowers and I love your description (you certainly did what Laura asks us to do with the macros... paused and really really looked. (And I did that too when I looked at your picture.)
