OUR WORLD - A Season of Giving

Ephemeral as a rainbow held in the hand

LOVE comes into it's own at this season of the year,
seeping gently into hearts like candle light

it is not the baubles on the Christmas tree,
nor the presents under it

it is the spirit of giving and sharing,
of caring for the orphans,
sharing our meal with the homeless or lonely,

of holding those in need in the warm embrace of our homes.

You cannot buy love, nor steal it, take it by force or keep it in a safe
deposit box.

It is only there for us to GIVE.

The more we give the further it goes, a well that never runs dry
as long as we keep giving.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE !

Hark, the herald angels sing . . .
spreading their wings across the sky

sometimes just wings

and sometimes with hints of an angel.

Our World & World Bird Wednesday - Christmas is coming . . .

Christmas is coming

and the geese are getting fat . . . all except this one which has
been dieting for two months sitting on a clutch of nine infertile
eggs and fiercely protecting them until I snuck in the other end
of the shed and managed to hide the stinking things while she
snatched a few mouthfuls of grass. No, she certainly will not be
Christmas dinner.

Today I must make a foray into the big smoke to locate a few
elusive presents. Haven't managed any Christmas baking as
yet and have a birthday cake to bake before Friday. I hope all
of you are better organised.

How can I get anything done when I have little distractions like
this Superb Blue Wren around?

Or kangaroos checking me out as I stalk a bird or two,

like these Sulphur-Crested Cockatoos, a few couples of which,
in our twenty years here, have passed through on their annual
pilgrimages. Last year a small flock decided this was a good
spot to linger and colonised one of our paddocks. This year
there has been a population explosion and we have well over
a hundred of them screeching between our houses. The noise
of feeding and begging babies is deafening and they, together
with a flock of Galahs, are stripping our Eucalyptus trees where
they roost and snipping off new shoots on ornamental evergreens.

At least some of them hide their heads in shame . . .

And so, with a few meadow flowers sunning themselves, I wish
all my dear blog friends wherever you are, a Happy and Blessed
Christmas and/or Holiday Season. May those of you in cold
climates stay warm and those in hot ones stay cool. Enjoy your
time with family and friends, be they two or four legged.

Stay safe on the roads, everyone else drives like a maniac!

TODAY'S FLOWERS - Poppy & Roses

WISHING YOU ALL A SAFE AND HAPPY CHRISTMAS !

Share your love with family and friends, remember, not
everyone has someone to share Christmas with so wish some
lonely person a Happy Christmas in the street or at the checkout.
You have no idea how much that can mean.

Time for TODAY'S FLOWERS :

this just opened poppy caught my eye all crinkled still from
it's cocoon, with stripes painted
on it's petals.

Roses against the light, romance personified . . .

It is worth enlarging them, especially the poppy.

Pick your best flowers and send a bunch to TODAY'S FLOWERS so
everyone can enjoy them !

To all of you out there in blogland, a

HAPPY CHRISTMAS

may you all stay safe this holiday season!

Red geraniums in the sunlight this morning in my garden.

With the light shining through them there is even a Christmas
star shining through.

Thank you Luiz for steering us along a flower strewn path for
another year. It has been a very pleasant journey.

And lastly, a birthday bouquet for my dear Prof. from another
year when there was a profusion of flowers in the garden to
choose from, although the lilieas were badly wind damaged
they were important for the fusion of scents.

MY WORLD ~ 9 Of Christmas Past.

To all who hold this season dear,
I extend my good wishes and Christmas cheer!

Where Love is , Christmas is in bloom
it fills your heart and every room

25 years ago when our house was lost to fire
40 years worth of my embroidery went as well.
To clear our daughter's head of engulfing flames,
we sent her to Europe and Canada to see relatives
and friends for a while instead. On her travels she
bought a piece of eaven weave and some coloured
threads and, starting at one corner, embroidered
this wonderful cloth for me designing as she went.
For an artist who paints with a very large brush , it
was a labour of love to constrain herself to meticulously
counting out and repeating for all four corners this
intricate design. (Please enlarge to see the twinkling
gold thread outlines). She came back for her father's
birthday (23rd, Dec.) with her Rucksack full of the
most wonderful Christmas decoratios so that, in our
unfinished house we had all the trimmings.

A detail that follows on from the corner

As the years have passed, she has taken more and
more of the weight from my shoulders. Christmas
eve with a feast at the farm below

Tatted snow flakes and wire bauble my
granddaughters have made for our little tree

A lesson in how to wrap presents: when faced
with a skateboard for your siblings, turn it into a
teddy!

More magic from granddaughters, gingerbread with
icing coloured with raspberries, violets and other edibles
from the garde.

One just for me hanging on our tree

Let Angels descend from Heaven above
and shower the earth with incredible Love
Let Peace for once reign
on this planet of strife
and continue throughout
the rest of all Life.

A Merry Christmas to All who visit this site
and so I will wish you a very good night.

I raise my brimming cup to the MY WORLD
team once more and encourage you to tap on
the Logo at right to enjoy the world.

TODAY'S FLOWERS ~ 10 Christmas

To ALL who visit here I wish a
HAPPY CHRISTMAS

With young Father Christmas
in training below

although in Australia we do not have snow
our hearts are as light
and our Christmases bright
with red and green wonders
that grow.

My Cactus had twenty one blooms this year
which made it to me abundantly clear
it needed to show itself far and near
for all to enjoy it who see or hear.

and lastly to give you a special treat,
my Christmas spider so bright and sweet
on Christmas lily he sits and waites
to be joined by his family, friends and mates.

This little Archnid looks vicious and frightful
he doesn't bite or sting and is quite delightful.

To Luiz Santilly Jr., Denise B. Castro and Laerte Pupo
we all owe thanks for providing us with this venue to
show our flowers and plants.

Happy holidays to all!
