Arija, this is most beautiful. I seldom get poppies that are large enough to save the seedheads. Soil, weather and all. I covet these! (in a healthy way, of course!)
Hi Arija! I've just cleaned my garden and taken out all the old poppies and I took off the seedheads for I want to sow the seed and have poppies next year.
The shape lens itself to the early morning sun and a stunning shadow. The camera must be with you at all times to capture such beauty - or is this shot in a dream??
Nice effect...You asked about sunflower seeds and the health of birds. Wild birds will always go after insect protein first and then to the seeds so there isn't a concern....good question...Michelle
Cool shot, have ta tell ya, my shot was taken in the morning coming downstairs from the bedroom with camera in hand...you can never be to careful with these shadow shots...lol!
Lovely! I was just today delighting unwitting non-gardening friends with dried poppy seed pods in my garden. Those little salt shakers they make are brilliant.
I have never seen poppies in real life. I need to do so. What a dramatic image, the top one! Isn't it amazing that even if we have not seen it in person, we readily identify it?
