TODAY'S FLOWERS & I Heart Macro - Feijoa Flowers

My Feijoas have just finished flowering
and now, I look forward to the fruits
of my labours

they sport such intricate flowers with bright colours
and even if one does not appreciate the fruit, which  I love,
their evergreen foliage and spectacular flowers certainly
deserve a place in the garden.

  1. so very exotic and beautiful!

(some folks hunt and eat squirrels here in the states, too. it is often associated with poor country folks but often it is the first game young hunters learn to hunt.)

  2. Have never heard of Feijoas, but if the fruit tastes half as good as that flower is beautiful must be good.

  9. Not a fruit that I'm at all familiar with, but worth growing for the flowers alone.

  11. I love your pretty flowers of Feijoa, and I could never resist tasting the luscious petals, do you nibble them? They are not hardy where I live now, though. They are a great shrub.

  20. Ah, so that's what Feijoa flowers look like. Spectacular. A lady brought me some of the fruit from her garden when I worked at Prince Henry's hospital in Melbourne over forty years ago. I've never forgotten their wonderful flavour. Really enjoyed your post!
