The first few moments when the awakening Sun
yawning stirs in her bed
casting great shadows, reaches out to spread colour
on the emerging land
and for a few seconds imbues with glorious colour
all that comes within her reach
then, waking in full earnest, sets the pines afire.
For a bit of fun, sepia clouds through my brown sunnies
I admit I look at the world through rose tinted glasses,
it makes it so much easier to muddle through life.
After all, when you expect the best, you draw a close
approximation towards yourself.
approximation towards yourself.

Once again...beautiful images!
ReplyDeleteWhen the sun comes up here it first tinges the tips of the pine trees with golden light,... that is my favorite time of the day when the sky begins to lighten and the pines are golden with new sunlight!
ReplyDeleteBreathtaking beautiful! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos and wonderful descriptions to go along with them.
ReplyDeleteGlorious skies! Hope you are healing up nicely and feeling your spunky self again, Arija.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful skies and a treat to the eyes.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,Ruth
Arija - what a lovely post! I enjoyed your picture-story! I think looking at the world with rosy glasses is just fine - better than the alternative, for sure. Snowing here in CO again - I'll have my SkyWatch up later after a cross country ski.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photo and words and I love them all! Do hope you're feeling better -- you sound like you do. Happy SWF! Have a great weekend! and thanks for a great post -- as always!
ReplyDeleteI adore your photos...and your philosophy!
ReplyDeleteSome people wear some really thick lenses in life that distort and twist the world. A Rose Coloured world is a wonderful filter to see through..

ReplyDeleteLife is so much more fun when you can see the world through rose-coloured glasses. Very nice photos and words.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful skies. I'm kind of a rose-tinted view person myself...
ReplyDeleteA good series of photos for sky watch Friday, I look at the world through glasses also, just not rose tinted, if I didn't I would not see much of the world, LOL.
ReplyDeleteI do too, I see the world in rose colored glasses. I like it that way :D
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your photos a lot.
Wonderful photos. The first is simply enigmatic!
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky on your side of the globe to catch the beauty of the sunrise.
ReplyDeleteYou really can do a enjoyable post, thank you for your photos and words!
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for explaining a use of that adze. Perhaps they have had it, but many Finnish men have done that work also by an axe.
Thank you for your interest!
Pleasant weekend to you!
What an exquisite sunrise. I really enjoyed this tour and the wonderful captions below each photo.
ReplyDeleteNow that we're sleeping outside, I wake up to the rays of the sun every morning. It's soooo beautiful!!

Such joy to wander under those skies, albeit vicariously.
Still, I felt I was there.
Thank you! :-)
I am travelling to Bad Ischl this weekend. Anything you'd like me to try to photograph? I will hopefully manage to take the long route, via Bad Assau and Grundlsee, then take in Attersee and Wolfgangsee.
Beautiful daybreak series! I especially like the quiet moments at the very edge of dawn.
ReplyDeleteThe first shot with the dramatic scud clouds dangling... really speaks of something yet to come. Great collection!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful examples of stratocumulus!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures, nice with the shadows and pretty colors! Good weekend
ReplyDeleteThe bare trees on the hillside remind me of California right now. I love the dawn light, too bad I am not ofter up to see it.
ReplyDeleteI got a kick out of the galahs too.
What a beautiful sight to wake up to! I especially like the first three, and yes, they are even better in full screen view.

Arija, thank you very much. It is so kind of you. I am having a great time, getting to know people like you and meeting friends. Most of all I thoroughly relish the chance to meet artistically inclined women who share similar interests. I am very thrilled with a handful of brilliant women who I continue to meet as I blog. I think I won the jackpot. I know a handful and you are on my first counting hand.
