The golden promise
darkens into orange,
casting a smoky reflection in the dam
and moments later fades into quite different shades
yet still some colour lingers to set off the windmill . . .
only to pale into an afterglow
as the sky mourns the loss of yet another day .
All photos enlarge as always.
With many thanks to the great folks at SkyWatch who host this meme.
happy summer to you! till now the weather was really good here but it will change soon and the rain and fog will come. wonderful sunsets! :)
ReplyDeleteOne of the beauties of the world we all get to see...well I guess that would be if we take the time to notice, and if we don't live in big cities where the smog is so thick that it obscures the view..sad!!
ReplyDeleteYour's is a lovely series of the setting sun...and artist palette of pale purples and pinks and the added touch of the windmill ...lovely!!
Hope all is well...
Grace
I love any sky with a reddish or purplish tint. The sun was red this morning but there were too many buildings and wires blocking the view. I was not able to capture it and by the time I was in a clear area, the sun was an ordinary yellow. Always good to look up above. I hope you are doing well despite so many tasks and things to manage. Take care, my dearest Arija. Tsup!
ReplyDeleteWhat glorious skies! Your captures are superb as always, Arija! I love the windmill, such a perfect touch! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

ReplyDeleteCan you imagine a day without a beautiful sunset Arija? I love to look out my window and glimpse a sunset and if I'm up early enough a soft pretty sunrise - music to my soul.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sky shots.

Oh my, doesn't the silhouette of the trees by the windmill look like a great big majestic beast, coming to sniff out the windmill giant? His name must be Quixote.
ReplyDeleteSending you love. xoxo

Beautiful sunset--it payed to "stay put" and watch the lovely changes. Great photo of the windmill against the setting sun. Have a great weekend. Mickie :)
ReplyDeleteHi there - yes, you can tell a lot about the sky from a single cloud.
ReplyDeleteVery good set of pictures - like the way you have sequenced the ending of the day.
There is of course the possibility that the rather than mourning the passing of a day, the sky could be celebrating the coming of a new one.

Changing colors on the sunset sky never make me feel tired of watching. Isn’t it a bliss for us to be able to end a day with such a sky watch? Thank you for sharing the wondrous shots with nice narratives. Have a restful weekend, Arija.
