As I promised last Sunday, here are more of my friends' orchids.
Don't you just love this freckled one? Cattleya Lulu 'Pink Blush'.
Or this virginal white Cattleya HawaiianWedding Song 'Virgin'
Or the work worn hand lifting this milk chocolaty bloom?
Cattleya bicolor (a species)
A beautiful head on this red Cattleya Carol Bernice
and the lovely lip on this delicious pale lilac Cattleya leopoldii 'Brenda'?
. . . and this one, if I had had the naming of, would have been
called maiden's blush, as it is it is Epidendrum Salmon King
I hope you enjoy them as much as I did photographing them.
Wonderful pictures of lovely orchids. Hard to choose a favorite they have allla its special expression! but if I had to choose I choose the spotted. I wish you a wonderful day! Zinnia
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful. That second one looked like some of our daffodils. Thank you so much.
ReplyDeleteI think I may have said this last time - but orchids really are remarkable.

Every time I see an orchid for sale in one of our local garden centres I am sorely tempted to buy it. I have not done so yet as I am a bit scared of looking after one - I understand they are a plant that can be easily killed with kindness.
ReplyDeleteI did enjoy them. Lovely flowers-lovely photos! Have a nice Sunday. Mickie :)
ReplyDeleteHi Arija...Dear me they are just gorgeous...I wouldn't want to have to pick a favorite out of those!

ReplyDeleteWhat a great illustration of the breadth of the orchid world. I really love the "Maiden Blush" one.
ReplyDeleteSuperb. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI would call them gorgeous, but that would be an understatement.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful Arija and I must say my favs are the freckled beauty and the unusual chocolatey one, wow so gorgeous all of them. Thank you for sharing these beauties with each of us. have a happy week~
ReplyDeleteThat are the good photography.
ReplyDeleteHi there - the comment about the ants was a statement of fact rather than a cry for help - but thanks for thinking about it anyway!
ReplyDeleteMy wife (who is in charge of the garden) was not able to tell me the name of the plant - so you helped there anyway.
Hope the clouds continue to thin a little.

Wonderful selection of flowers. The orchid is very unique and beautiful. All of the flowers are a delight. I also liked you guest friend shot. The funny thing is until you mentioned it, I didn't even realize that tulip was one of my shots. I looked at the guest friend shots but missed my name, and had forgotten that shot.
ReplyDeletethey come in many shapes. My favourites is the white and the chockolate ones.
ReplyDeleteThose are amazing. So beautiful. I couldn't pick a favorite -- your friends are remarkably able gardeners. Actually maybe the one with the workworn hand is my favorite picture because it is a reminder of the hard work and talent that are involved in raising these beauties!
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous! Wonderful shots.
