SkyWatch - watching the day fade

After a long day's drive across New Zealand's
South Island,
we found this splendid hotel in Wanaka
with views across the lake and the snow-capped mountains

with the statutory G&T in hand
we watched the last rays of the sun
catching the mountain tops

darn it, it's hard to take photos with my phone
while hanging on to my gin with the other hand
and leaning over the balcony
trying to photograph around the corner

happily I stayed safe after all and
was able to enjoy the pink clouds
reflecte in the lake
and my G&T

  14. Absolutely beautiful skies.... and it sounds like you found the perfect evening combination to celebrate (although the camera would undoubtedly have been a little more than I could handle along with that statutory G&T..since I have trouble walking and chewing gum at the same time. (I sure do like those laws ;>)!

    1. Sallie dear, we are very law abiding around here in that respect. Didn't realise you had co-ordination challenges. Ever though of taking Lecithin? After about three months you really notice the difference in brain function, who knows?

  21. I really want to spend some more time in NZ - what a great looking place.

My pictures of Sydney Harbour were taken near when the huge cruise ships normally dock - managed to find to flat ground.

  22. Breath taking beauty in each image share Arija. I had to giggle at the thought of you with phone in one hand taking photos and your gin drink in the other. I would say if that was the case, you mastered all beautifully...hugs~
