A week to mid-winter and I'm pruning roses but how can you
chop back such beautiful flower heads? I guess I'm just a soft
touch so I work around the buds and flowers and trim them later.

A little wonder from the shade house, a gloriously perfumed
little Cyclamen.

ReplyDeleteYes, the roses never fails!
ReplyDeleteAmazing to have such lovely flowers during the winter! What a bright spot in a gray day! Marvelous captures as always, Arija! Have a great week!

I can never cut my roses back at the end of the season either. It always amazes me how long they go.
ReplyDeleteI would find it impossible to trim off those beautiful roses. Was hiking the other day and stopped in my tracks because of the heady aroma of wild roses along the trail. I really wanted to take that smell home with me.
ReplyDeleteWhen we had a garden I never could prune living flowers either. Your pictures are perfect!
ReplyDeleteThanks again for brightening my day with your beautiful flowers.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,Ruth
I prune around flowers too. It's hard to cut away something so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt would be a shame to prune them off, wouldn't it? So beautiful! When is your first day of winter? Spring?
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your roses and cut later the flowerheads before they turn to seeds!!
ReplyDeleteVery, very pretty flowers and great pictures!!
Roses in winter? Ours get buried under four feet of snow! Lovely pictures. I hate cutting flowers back too.

ReplyDeleteBellissime rose...mi piace molto la 3° foto.
ReplyDeleteBuona giornata :-))
such lovely winter flowers! we never have winter flowers... simply have snowflakes... wishing you more lovely flowers.
ReplyDeleteWhen we were landscaping the back yard a small rose bush was found buried in the back under the deck. It is now in the side flower bed where it can finally see the light of day..If it blooms, I will post a photo...Michelle
ReplyDeleteVery generous bloom of your roses that continues to delight your garden and heart.
ReplyDeleteQuestion: how come Cylamens here in Australia are not as dense and big petalled as those in Europe? The ones I'd seen in Germany were rounded and robust and thick flowered.
Has it something to do with our weather?
Today's Flowers.
Do we ever enjoy and love roses more than when they brave the midst of winter to stay with us for one more glorious day?
ReplyDeleteIn spite of cold weather (0deg here!!) Roses keep on keeping on, yours are perfect. Thanks for the visit.
ReplyDeleteI love the light through the cyclamen! Beautiful flowers.
