SkyWatch ~ On the Road Come Rain or Shine


In the inimitable words of Ogden Nash:
"Home is heaven
and orgies are vile,
but I like an orgy once in a while."

We were travelling for 30 days through three states and over
3,000 kilometers and have just come home again for a while.
Whew!!!



Leaving Sydney we were engulfed by these great rolling clouds
betokening wild weather to come.


They did not quite live up to their expectations for a few hundred
miles yet


but were definitely flexing their muscles.



A little further on they came down with a vengeance, the
windscreen wiper on my side jammed permanently so there are
no pikkies of the deluge.

You will get more travel impressions a little later in the week.
Meanwhile, all pictures enlarge as usual.

Thanks to our great SkyWatch Team we can share and enjoy
each other's skies. Keep it up guys!

    Here in the States we have all seen pictures of Ayers Rock and the Sidney Opera House but for me, at least, that is the extent of my knowledge (oh, there is the Great Barrier Reef, of course). You show me there is much more to Australia.

    These ar truly awesome clouds, Arija. For someone from a small country as the Netherlands it's hard to imagine you can travel 3.000 km in a country. :-)

    Hi Arija ~ looks like we both saw some "wild" clouds this week! They are a sight to behold!
    I guess we are fortunate that we didn't have to withstand their fury {as some had to endure this month}
    I am grateful so far for us here in New York State, we have just had the rain ~ and a little thunder & lightening...

    We're having that same "flexing" here in Or, USA, Arija! This trip has been rainy and windy so far. Glad you made it safely home - you were on the road a long haul. We are gone for about 3 weeks and that seems long to live out of a suitcase!
