SkyWatch - Wirrialpa Sunset

Some 700km north from our rapidly cooling autumn weather, our first evening at Wirrealpa station gifted us this brilliant sunset. Going north for us is like going south in the northern hemisphere to seek out some natural warmth.

One could get lost in the colour alone,

let alone the soothing vista of windmill, trees and sky.

The sun drops lower, the birds are stilled and peace reigns in this little piece of heaven of 1,650 acres running sheep and cattle and catering for guests in their cottage and shearers' quarters.

As night falls, the sky clears revealing a blaze of stars unmarred by any light source. The perfect place to sit back, look up and float away into the universe.
