Back on line after my trip to Sydney,
had lots of fun
and my son took me to interesting places
a one and a half hour drive and a ferry ride
took us to The Basin off Palm Beach
where we found these common birds:
above, Kookaburra
crow
wood ducks wandering
and feeding.
i love your sweet little wood ducks with their tiny bills. the kookaburra always steals the show, though. :)
ReplyDeleteExciting birds you have! I love all your little birds today....and a Kookaburra always makes me smile. I also love ferry rides!
ReplyDeleteOh, yes!! I do agree with Tex! The ducks are so cute, but I do love that kookaburra!! Hope your week is going well, Arija, Looks like you had a fun trip to Sydney!!
ReplyDeleteFunny how something common to one area is such an interesting treat to other from afar. I love that little kookaburra ~ I don't think I would tire of seeing them , such a cute little fellow .
ReplyDeleteThanks for the share.
Seems like crows are everywhere. Glad you had a good visit and journey. Welcome home.
ReplyDeleteLove it. And kookaburras are not nearly common enough in my neck of the woods.
ReplyDeleteLovely birds.Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteHi Arija, great bird shots. I especially love the one of the kookaburra. The only time I have ever seen one is in our National Zoo and I heard him trill also. Such a neat bird.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos. I've never seen a photo of a kookaburra, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had a good time in Sydney, it's quite the city! Love your kookaburra!
ReplyDeleteYou're back, and it sounds like you had a successful trip. The Kookaburra may be common to you, but they always make me smile.
ReplyDeleteLove the wood ducks! They are all awesome birds.
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting array of birds you have this week .
ReplyDeleteBeautiful birds. It is delight to watch them.
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to see the kookaburra in person!!
ReplyDeleteSimilar looking bunch to the birds of Melbourne as well ('course they tell us the Sydney corvid is more likely to be Australian Raven rather than "our" Little raven down here)
ReplyDeleteLove the Kookaburra, such beauty and interesting birds to see. I always wince when I think that we have them in a cage a very large cage, yet still a cage at our local zoo. The Wood Ducks are so pretty, very different than the ones that roam around here. Hugs to you~!
ReplyDeleteSomehow the Kookaburra looks rather exotic to be common but I suppose it's all relative and I would just love the see one and hear that famous call.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like fun, Arija! Nice birds to see! All are exotic to me!
ReplyDeleteThat shot of the kookaburra is so cool!
ReplyDeletehow wonderful that your son showed you around.
ReplyDeletei love that Kookaburra!
Beautiful birds. I love the kookaburra.
ReplyDeleteWonderful post and really love the Kookaburra.
ReplyDeleteLove that Kookaburra shot!
ReplyDeleteNice pictures. And always good to see a Mr. Kook as we tend to declare when we see one!
ReplyDeleteCheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
Can't believe Kookaburras are "common." That is so cool!
ReplyDeleteIowa Voice
Love those birds -- nothing common about two of them for me anyway. And even the crow looks prettier than mine usually do.
ReplyDeleteHappy to know you had fun on your trip and that you arrived safely home.
