The gentle violet at my feet
sweet perfume wafting
on the ambient air
like love long lost
that vaguely lingers
reawakened
in the early spring.
The scent in passing
holding memories so sweet
oh gentle little violet
blooming at my feet.

ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this post about the violet. I have been trying to get rid of them here as they were growing wild and are extremely invasive. Just about got them gone except for some growing in and around a large rose of sharon bush. It is a never ending job. They are also beautiful if I could keep them in one place.

Funny little flower. If I try and grow it somewhere it often reacts negatively but where a couple of seeds fall it will turn into a beautiful carpet.
