now inaccessable due to the unexpectantly high water level.
September brought our highest EVER average rainfall for the
month in our State.

A closer look at the gory details. Withour a boat we cannot
get the run up boards down and with the current water level
they would not be long enough anyway.

Shot Sunday.

They are definitely better enlarged, even if I say so myself.

PS You will have an Arija free week next week as I will be in the
wilds of the Flinders Ranges.

Love your reflections and shadow for the weekend! Really terrific captures, Arija! Hope you're having a great trip! Look forward to hearing all about it when your return -- with lots of photos, too, I hope!

Oh, how I would love to be there and read a book, meditate and just be in silence. Great photos Arija.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely wonderful this calm and peaceful post!

Those shadows, here where we live, would be an ideal spot to cast a line for a monster fish. I like the photos and post as well as the lost feather.
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought the diving platform boards look loose and then I read your words. Aaaw, Arija. I still remember the drought and now severe rains. Mother Nature can't seem to moderate it sometimes. Still beautiful though. I just hope there are no mosquitoes!
ReplyDeleteA lovely weekend to you my beloved friend. I love you. TSUP!!!
Just learned you are traveling from the comment by our sweet Sylvia, since we too have been traveling and I missed some posts. I hope also then that you are having a great time wherever you are and stay safe. I would give anything for rain. 84 days above 90 ' temps and 8.1 inces low on rain, very harsh conditions~
ReplyDeleteHey Arija, I note with gladness you are still umbilically tied to that camera. And what a great union it IS! Yep, the pics are outstanding when blown up a bit.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
Yay for the water levels!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week, Arija. Give out a loud WHOOP for me when you reach the top of the mountain.
xoxo
ACK! I missed the note about "arija-free" week and when I read your comment on my blog, I panicked. Okay. Hahahah! Have a safe trip, sweetest!
ReplyDeleteThat is an absolutely beautiful photo. The way the platform cast its shadow in the water and the trees are reflected on the water in the background....Beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!!!
Hope you have a safe trip.
Oh, so beautifully captured. There's nothing more beautiful than shadows and reflections in nature. Great shots.
ReplyDeleteAwesome shadows, how you caught that is beyond me. Love the unique lines of the deck, pier.

We would love to have your participation.
Your shadows are awesome! Love the raft!
ReplyDeleteThe platform is surrounded by lots of water. Yet, by the time the Summer arrives down there, the liquid will have receded in the heat, and will be available then...no matter how much water remains, the reflections ae wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely spot, and the shadows are great.
ReplyDeleteHave a great trip.
The feather shot is so delicate. Lovely, nice done!
ReplyDeletewow, that is a lot of water. I remember your drought... and now so much water, everything changes...
ReplyDeleteI wish you a wonderful time away!
Wonderful shots - so peaceful.
ReplyDeleteArija, what wonderful shadows. I hope you see some more "angels" on your trip but I hope they let you remain here with us! I have so missed you dear heart! I hope you are well!
ReplyDeleteWe do have strange weather going this year, don't we? The pics are excellent for a shadowy theme.
ReplyDeleteJust been there not long ago. Our stay was somewhat inundated with rain but I had no complain whatsoever.
SA is a beautiful place to be. Nice, clean and the well-disciplined. The green countryside are uplifting so different to the driest sight of summer when I was there in 2008.
Thanks for visiting my floral blog. Sorry for not getting back to you soon. Busy with grandmothering too.
Arija! You are flying with us in the BBB Club leaf mobile. You are one of our scouts, guiding us!
ReplyDeleteI like those shadows and the glass look of the water surface. It is so peaceful there.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful time where ever you are! :-)
Beautiful! The boards-on-water look like a Japanese setting.
