A place where I can breathe, Hawker, the doorway to the
Flinders Ranges. Doesn't look like much, does it?
That is the whole point, dryland Outback leading to the
spectacular Ranges, haven of artists and those who seek a
combination of beauty and solitude.
Early morning, promising a wonderful day . . .

Hallo Arija,
beautiful scenery shots!! i could just sit awhile under the tree in the first one.
ReplyDeleteIt seems that the plain land offers no possibilities. However, the closer to our goal, here the hilly range, the possibilities slowly yet surely are seen becoming present. The dry ground soon becomes lush with many species. The closer we get, the green slopes to the mighty red alps. A beautiful transformation!
ReplyDeletelovely shots - I love the colours here in the flinders - travelled here a couple of times when i lived in Adelaide...
ReplyDeleteThere is beauty in such emptiness Arija.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and breathtaking, Arija. My kind of place. Thanks for sharing. Blessings, Jo
ReplyDeleteI'd love to spend an afternoon there...
ReplyDeleteHave a great week ahead!
Lovely captures, delightful shadows and such a beautiful, peaceful looking place -- just the environment we all need from time to time and I know that it's one of those times for you. I'm there with you, Arija, in my thoughts. Have a lovely weekend. Remember to breathe deep!

Dear Arija,
ReplyDeleteTalking of room to breathe andopen spaces,(which as you know, I love), I had a look at a lovely post of yours dated june 21 last year, your 400 and first post.
You showed us the Barossa valley in such lovely landscape images. For you wide open spaces are the norm, when for us in the UK it is a rare luxury.
I could sit in your photos on a chair with a good book for the whole day. It looks enchanting! Someday I'll get there in person.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are lovely and are makim
ReplyDeleteNg me hungry for the garden!
Awesome set of shadow shots.
ReplyDeleteMy shadows, enjoy your weekend!
Oh my, the colors of orange and soft purples in the second photo take my breath away. And I was delighted to see that your shadow made a guest appearance in there, too!
ReplyDeleteLove to you, sweet Arija. I hope you are enjoying a wonderful weekend.
I love the second pic with the beautiful rusty tin - wonderful colours in this shot. Yes the shadows growled!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like an ideal place to be alone for a while. :)
ReplyDeleteOh what I wouldn't give for some *dry* right now!
ReplyDeleteSeems such a beautiful place...
Say, are those sleeping dogs in that first photo and if yes, I wonder why they are not laying in shade? Maybe they too wanted to cast a shadow :>]]
O such beautiful landscapes basking in glorious light! These scenes refresh the soul!
ReplyDeleteHi - thanks for the comment on my blog.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about the fire. I have no way to understand what that must be like. The Prom had some huge fires at the same time as the Black Saturday fires here 2 years ago. Don’t think the area we walked through was burnt, but there have been a number of other fires in the last few years as well.
Thought the orchid was a parasite because of its lack of green.
Catch up on Tuesday! Stewart M
Hellooooooo!!! Oh I knew that. Hahahah! Yeah right. I did not research that narwhal but I corrected that. Go check it out! Heheheh! Tsup!

ReplyDeleteI like your long shadows and the golden glow on the hills.
ReplyDeleteA lovely set of shadows Arija.
ReplyDeleteLovely! I can't imagine how days could possibly not be wonderful amongst such beauty! Enjoy the rest of your weekend :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful ShadowShots. It looks like a neat get-away to me! As long as there are some trees and fresh air, bring it on!! Happy SSS to you.
ReplyDeleteHi Arija -- we grew up in Eastern Washington State and these pictures remind me of that area. There are definitely places in the western US where you'd feel right at home. And places in your country where I would obviously!!
ReplyDeleteThere is a quiet and peacefulness that really comes through in your pictures. Thanks for sharing.
i had a nice comment all typed out last night then pouf! it was gone. Ah well.. I love that tree! I could handle hanging out there for a while, yup! :) and i dig the shadows in the second photo - nice!
