What is true friendship? Friendship is when someone you
have never met or spoken to, who knows you are going through
a long stretch of tough time, stretches out a hand across the seas
and sends you her wonderful art work. Ces is a marvellous artist
with an immense output, painter and illustrator extrordinaire
and blessed with a heart the size of a continent.
Not only did my dear sisterfriend send me this delight above,
she also went to all the trouble to study my Sacred Canyon post
and drew this superb interpretation of it especially for me.
Fairweather friends one has aplenty but sisterfriends who
feel you need help and extend themselves to draw and share
their artistry are few and far between.
My heart swells with gratitude as I look at the wonders
she has created.
Thank you so much my dear funny, talented, incredibly intelligent,
caring sisterfriend.
I love what Ces did with the Sacred Canyon. It's like she was there with you, which in essence she was. Almost funny how our cyberfriendships from far away bring us closer together every day. And it's not everyday that you get kissed by an elephant. Hugs to you. Take care please!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great friend Ces is! I, too, love what she did with the Sacred Canyon. We are indeed blessed by our wonderful cyber friends and I can't even imagine a day without communicating with them. In many ways you are all closer to me than my own family! I always hold good thoughts for you and your family, Arija and I do know that this is such a difficult time for you. Sending you much love and hugs, as always!

Wonderful works - you are blessed indeed to have such a friend.
ReplyDeleteA true friend indeed! Those are beautiful. The Sacred Canyon drawing is just perfect, wow! I second Gaelyn, hugs your way!
ReplyDeleteA true friend is rare and should be treasured - as you do here, Arija.
ReplyDeleteAaaaawww! You are so sweet! Please, may I remind you that YOU were my true friend first before I was yours. I was so surprised when one day you came and you heard what I was NOT saying! OMG! I felt this strange and shocking sensation and I told myself "My goodness, this woman can see through me." Ever since I wore lead clothes. Hahahah! Just kidding. Ah dearest Arija, you are a wonderful friend. I loved you then, I love you now and I will forever love you. You make everyone feel special. I am so grateful for you. I thank God for you everyday. Tsup!
ReplyDeleteHi Arija -- Thank you for commenting on my blog, and I think you really do have a chance of meeting a blogger friend in person. Somehow, some day, someone who cares about you as much as Ces obviously does, will mention, "Hey, I'm coming to your part of Australia next month (or maybe next week) so how about getting together for tea (or coffee)?"
ReplyDeleteIt happens.
All the best to you!

Beautiful thoughts. I really love the artistry. You have an amazing friend.
ReplyDeleteCes's works are magic, most definitely. Each curved line of ink is like an arm that reaches out to envelope you in her love. It is no wonder that she loves you so much! Your unwavering warmth and wisdom make the distance of miles disappear. Sisterhood and friendship are treasured blessings, indeed.

It's truly extraordinary the friendships that can be woven through cyberspace...my heart swells reading about this one.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful artwork! What a delightful gift to receive.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully drawn Arija. As a cyber friend I must say you are often in my thoughts.
ReplyDeleteThat drawing of the tree is something like the things I used to do. I love line drawing and still fantasize about doing it again. Bought the stuff but it hasn't been used yet. Maybe someday.
ReplyDeleteTake care of your heart. I know I have to take care of my lungs. It is a struggle sometimes.
I love this piece!! Ms. Ces is incredibly talented with an amazing heart. I love that she captured the spirit of you and your life in this piece. wowzers.
