A few hundred yards down river from that noisy water-skier
(post below)
where there is a patch of wetland, these swallow came in to
roost in their hundred as the sun sank lower.
Hard to say whether they are Masked, or White-Breasted
swallows, I need Stewart's expert opinion on to put me right on
that one.
Whatever they are called, they were an inspiration to watch
and photograph.
Birds are indeed wonderful and so are your captures for the day, Arija! Hope things are improving in your world, I'm holding good thoughts! Hugs.
ReplyDeleteAs far as I can tell these are White Breasted - I'm at work, but I'll check when I get home - but I'm pretty certain masked WS's do not have a uniform head colour - hence mask!
ReplyDeleteCheers - Stewart M.
PS: great set of picctures of a bird I failed to get good pictures of on my last trip away!
Great photos. My guess would be White-breasted Wood-swallows. We have those up here and I love the way they all crowd together when they roost on a branch.
ReplyDeleteThese guys are beautiful! They look like a lot of fun around the tree branches. Glad you were able to capture them on camera:)
ReplyDeleteDas ist ja fantastisch liebe Arija...

ReplyDeleteI love swallows! We have them around here, but my pix haven't turned out so beautifully. I think mine are violet-backed swallows, but I'm not sure.
