There are some changes being made. We are building
a 17,000 gallon water tank and the long overdue shed.
The back end of the house is really the front end so some
tidying up and I hope a shade-house and gazebo on the
water tank will follow.
To clear the site, firstly the pine tree behind my little
car needs to go. Our son, on one of his rare visits, is having
another 'bonding' experience with his father.
Going out to assess the situation....

Oops, I was just reading your post, when I heard an incoming mail sound, took a peep, it is you...what a great timing.. Anyway, the bonfire reminds me of my school days...and a gazebo, definitely a good choice. This would be an exciting transformation. We look forward to the final product!
ReplyDeletewhere are you going to get all that water?
ReplyDeleteYou first photo of your son looks like he is going to town in his long sleeved shirt. Looks he he did a lot of work, such a big tree.
Just talking about another rain water tank this morning and could we afford one as the tanks are all full and we had two very heavy showers with all gutters overflowing.
ReplyDeleteAt least your son does some wood work on his visits. I don´t.
ReplyDeleteHow nice to be getting some projects done, and with the help of your son. Yet I'm sorry to see the big pine go down.
ReplyDeleteIts all happening at your place. Hooray for son helping. That is one huge water tank. It should help in the dry months. Keep us up to date with the project.
ReplyDeleteChanges for the better..and a great father and son team,
ReplyDeleteHappy Tuesday!
Great shots - and what a good bonfire! Hope you roasted some potatoes or marshmallows...
ReplyDeleteA homeowner,s job is never done - that looks like hard work.
ReplyDeleteOh wow... it sounds like so much work but to have that big beautiful bonfire sounds like fun.
ReplyDeleteI know my husband would have found the biggest and fattest hotdogs to roast on that hot fire!! =)
A busy time. That water project sounds very exhausting.
ReplyDeleteWell it looks like the bonding experience went well as did the removal of the oak tree. Your favorite fellas sure did a wonderful job, Arija. And I might add that you did a marvelous job of supervising and photo taking too :D
ReplyDeleteWhat a huge job. Well done. (((Hugs))) Jo
ReplyDeleteArija: I'm sure that tree has done a good job for you over the years. Good luck with the project.
ReplyDeleteCutting tree is not good but sometimes we need to to it. I always plant another tree.

ReplyDeleteHi Arija,
ReplyDeleteI had to smile at "the bonding experience!" Sounds as though you are planning quite a project. It will be interesting to follow its progress.
I always hate to see a healthy pine go but in this case it's for a good cause. Nice that son was there to help. Bonfire looks welcoming!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a bit of a project. As the mother of two sons, I like to see them working with their father especially if father avoids criticism.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a lot of work, but the bonfire is nice. :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a busy winter with lots of work. I always hate to see a tree come down but sometimes they must! I also agree that some time around a bond fire would be nice. Great photos and story board. Have a great week.
