Shadow Shot Sunday ~ 2nd Advent

The day dawned swelteringly hot with curtains drawn against
the burning sun.

The elves had been at work with a beautiful Advent wreath
hanging from the ceiling festooned with hand made golden
stars,

as well as putting their artistry to good use decorating
gingerbread.

Stars and hearts, birds, bunny rabbits and a reindeer and
many other animals as well as a sparkling, snow covered
Christmas tree

What a wonderful thing it is to have competent grandchildren.

Happy Advent to everyone as Christmas comes hurtling
towards us.

  1. you made the cookies?

Last week, i was listening to the news about the frie in Oz, now in Israel. I hope no more, than our freezing works in Te Aroha got burnt today.

No good to having burning sun.

  5. The sun and stars - jewels for real, and wonderfully replicated in the ornaments. That so many are part of a lovely wreath of the season is wonderful. The holy day is all about, and whether a cold winter here or a warm summer day there, the season is quite special with the sun and starsl...

  9. Happy advent to you as well dear Arija. Wow, we have no Momma/Nana/daughters/grandchildren that could ever pull off the remarkable looking gingerbread cookies that your family decorated. Lovely and I know they shall also taste amazing, for nothing like the flavor of ginger at Christmas, or any time~ Mary

  17. Yowza! Those are the most ornate Christmas cookies I've ever seen. Mine look like they're made by a 5year old in comparison. Happy Advent to you...your weather is comparable to that of the original Advent I believe. We're covered in deep snow here in farrr North Idaho.
