Where the walking trail along the Ovens River in Bright, Victoria
crosses the river to return to town via the other side, there is this
great little footbridge swaying over the gorge.
your feet, you can make it sway even more which I enjoyed very
much until I saw the young lady on the other side who was
waiting to cross and dared not set foot on it while I was having fun.

ReplyDelete(yes, it is very dry and tinderbox-like in Texas. i'm a little worried for 4th of July fireworks...)
it does look like fun!!!! nice shadow!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the bridge! What fun! And what great shadow shots for the day, Arija! Hope your weekend is off to a good start! Enjoy!

That bridge looks like a "shaker." You know, you get in the middle of it and it just shakes you around!
ReplyDeleteSHADOW, BE TRUE
My shadow has come out to play.
Oh, shadow, please don’t run away!
Stay here by my side,
Pretend you’re my bride—
Be true to me now and alway!

Shadows here and here
I know that in design, this actually a stout bridge. Yet the rational last though goes out the window (or over the edge) when one steps on it - and a gentle gust feels like a gale when the boards swing just so. If it looks safe, perhaps a bit of fun while crossing is what we need to shed some of the day's irritations...
ReplyDeleteGreat shots! And how funny that the young lady waited for you to finish...
ReplyDeleteoh you're much braver than I. in the last photo it looks as though the bridge is rising up to meet you. happy SSS, and don't slip in frost on foot-bridges that you must sway. :)
ReplyDeleteHoly guacamole!! I got a bit "airs ick" crossing that bridge with you. Terrific Shadow Shot!! Happy SSS.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great bridge. So Fun to make them sway. Great shadow.
ReplyDeleteLove this kind of footbridge.
ReplyDeleteLovely shadow shots - but my sympathies are with the lady waiting to cross - years ago on holiday in Western Australia, we did a treetop walk on similar bridges ...... I was a very unhappy bunny!!
ReplyDeleteslippery and swaying!!
ReplyDeleteand high up too
you're a courageous soul :)
it is really pretty
I was born in sight of the grandest suspension bridge and have always loved them. I always feel like I'm on an adventure when on them.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend.

beautiful Arija...thank you for your prayers...one more test to hear about, but it looks like its a go! Must be all the people 'round the world and the sweet energy you are sending me. LOVE your photos!
ReplyDeleteOh, I got a little tipsy just looking at your photos! Wonderful captures.
ReplyDeletep.s. Happy blog-anniversary.
Now Arija, that would frighten me as well. I get a little dizzy up high and if I tried to walk across this, I would probably be already a little nerveous, and with you rattling it up;) I would probably wait to. The images are fantastic, cool walk bridge~
ReplyDeleteIs it scary to use the footbridge? I moved to a new domain, and HERE is my entry. Hope you can visit and follow me too, thank you!
ReplyDeleteThank you all so much for leaving a comment. If you think I'm brave swishing that bridge around over the gorge, I'm not really, I just like taking advantage of any bit of fun that comes my way.
ReplyDeleteMy husband is very mischievous, when he is on it, it likes to jump and shake it, and it is very scary when you are in the middle of the bridge
ReplyDeleteGraet pictures. I have been on one of those swaying bridges before, can't say that I enjoyed it. Moves a bit too much for me, especially when it is high above rough moving waters or at last the one I was walking on was.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
Fantastic bridge and shadows.
ReplyDeleteVery good photos, especially the first and third.
ReplyDeleteo my that looks a scary bridge - so long as it has a solid handrail i wouldn't be toooo bothered but ...
ReplyDeleteWild...impressive... fun!
ReplyDeleteClassic footbridge!!! Mine was so tame. Great shots
ReplyDeleteAbsolute adorable shot.
ReplyDeleteHmmm... looks like scary crossing over or?
Happy SSS & enjoy your upcoming week.
hugs,

Wow, like out of an Indiana Jones adventure!
ReplyDeleteGood onya!
Like the shadow in the last image, great photos not sure I would want to cross it though. However, it is located in a nice setting, thanks for sharing it:)
ReplyDeleteI have walked this type of bridge...i don't mind if it's just me making the crossing... but when other people either approaching or behind add to the movement I really don't like it.
ReplyDeleteA lovely post...
This kind of bridge is for the very brave! I wouldn't dare crossing such a wobbly contraption between heaven and earth! But it looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit and have a great week!
Oh, my goodness, wouldn't that be a fun bridge to cross! Great pictures! :D
ReplyDeleteArija....mallard drakes don't raise the young, they are usually gone by the time the eggs hatch off to molt. There are 4 of the 10 left now. I wish I could catch them and boy have we tried....I have game bird crumbles and water for them and they stay in the yard during the day, but at night, I can't protect them..breaks my heart...Michelle
ReplyDeleteI would be so careful with all that frost, but what an adventure Arija.
