Enlarged they are much more effective.
Fickle Clouds
Clouds rolling by
the sky may darken
and to them
watchfully we hearken
*
with promise deep
yet all their drops
yet all their drops
of rain they keep
*
from their great bounty
a drop to wet
a drop to wet
the ground so bare
*
and watch and hope
the fickle clouds
say one word: Nope!

ReplyDeleteWonderful skies! Sheba's skywatch will be up later in the evening... Happy Skywatch!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!! The first photo looks like a waterfall, not clouds! Happy skywatch:)
ReplyDeleteGlorious! And I think I see a face in the second one!
ReplyDeleteit's my wish that the clouds over you and yours open soon and provide you all with the rain you so need!

ReplyDeleteSo inviting and positively warm looking!
ReplyDeleteYour photos and prose are so well put together. And those teasing skies are candy for my eyes. Yet I'm so sad they did not share their watery bounty.

ReplyDeleteWow wonderful sky photos, thank you for a lovely sky.
ReplyDeleteHappy SWF.
So ironic as I watch it rain here...
ReplyDeleteThe clouds look like they were painted in place with a giant paintbrush. I am sure some place got the rain.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos!!
ReplyDeleteI love watching the clouds and these shots were such fun.
ReplyDeleteThose clouds look so wonderfully sculptural!
ReplyDeleteLove the commnenatary with each lovely image.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the first image. It's like a funnel and the wind is getting sucked by the clouds. I have not been taking photographs of skies lately but I never fail to look. My favorite skies ate the ones in the early morning before the break of dawn. I take Daisy out and as she finds a suitable place in the grass, I gaze at the sky. Thank you for sharing your lovely skies Arija!
ReplyDeleteWonderful cloud formations and nice poem.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I enlarged them for a second look - even more powerful and beautiful when they fill the screen.
ReplyDeletegreat skies!
ReplyDeleteWonderful takes of sky!
ReplyDeleteThe first is also very scary!!

Shakespeare with an attitude! I love the clouds that look like they're collapsing in on themselves, so ominous and dramatic. All that and no rain? What cheek! Happy SWF!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, but stingy clouds! I hope they release some drops soon.
ReplyDeleteSo those lovely clouds refused to rain on you?! Shame on them.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos as usual Arija...and the words too. I hope that doesn't mean you have missed out on rain entirely. I thought that SA may have been getting some rain too?
ReplyDeleteWonder did you manage to contact any spinners or weavers by any chance?
Hope you have recovered well?
Absolutely awesome clouds patterns in the sky. I'm always looking for nice clouds for a scenic backdrop. Not always possible.

ReplyDeleteThe photos are fantastic.I hope some rain comes.
ReplyDeleteWhat can I say. These are simply magnificent. The first is like a powerful eruption of steam or something. Sorry to hear that the awaited rain was witheld. I'm sure you would have needed it badly.
ReplyDeleteLovely series of beautiful sky
ReplyDeleteA great cloud story, and I remember when living on my grazing property it is so true!
ReplyDeleteArija, do you think you might have seen the desert Quandong whose fruits are edible? They might not grow very tall due to the dryness.
Gorgeous sky watch photos!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing..
Have a great weekend..
HSWF:)
You have captured some great skies! I like the first one because the perspective and cloud arrangement combined form what to me looks like a waterfall.
ReplyDeleteMay those promising skies bring the rain your land so desperately needs.
ReplyDeleteEnchanting skies accompanied with beautiful poetry. Just lovely!
ReplyDeletelol! I so love the poem that goes along with your pictures. It fits what we are going through here. So dry, brown and dusty with no rains for months.
ReplyDeleteWe may get snow in April or May, but no rain until our monsoons in July/August. So dry....please clouds share your bounty!
I like your top photo. For some reason it reminds me of a flower opening up. So pretty.
