Here though is a promising sign of the changing
seasons, the tiny Blue Wrens are back. This little
hen bird I heard fluting outside and rushed for
my camera. The rosebush is dead, but the bird
is wonderfully alive

What a wonderful face on Rex!
ReplyDeleteOh..thank you so much Arija for joining Nature Notes!!!!!! It is so strange to see so much of your farm so lacking in green. Living where I do we do get periods of dry, but nothing long lasting like this. I love your chickens and ducks, they are beautiful and I love what you said about Rex....Michelle
ReplyDeleteHow interesting Arija, that on the same day you should post about Autumn coming on the farm and I should post about Spring coming. That is one of the wonderful things about blogging around the world, isn't it? Love the ducks and hens - mine are getting very ancient. I have just been offered a clutch of silky eggs to put under a bantam but the farmer is not too keen - thinking silkies far to fancy for a work-a-day farm.
ReplyDeleteOh my, what a wonderful place. Shall I do a rain dance for you? OK, probably not.
ReplyDeleteRex is gorgeous!! And I love the pic of the horse in the field. Very pretty :)
ReplyDeleteCould only see the first photo -- one of those glitches I guess, but it is beautiful and I love the horse! Strange to think of you looking forward to fall and here in the states we are soooo hungry for spring! What a wonderful world we live in!
ReplyDeleteAwww, what a sweet dog face!
ReplyDeleteSo interesting that while you are starting autumn in Australia, we are looking for signs of spring in the US. I love the lighting in the third picture from top.
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots, Arija! Such expanse, beautiful country! :)
ReplyDeleteThe countryside is always beautiful! I'm also impressed with that old fossil finds. The leaves are like someone has drown them over the stones!
ReplyDeleteI agree! What a beautiful face on Rex. =) And the horse is a beauty!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting me! Have a great day!
Seasons are turning here, too - to a well-deserved and much wanted spring! Love conecting with your blog and seeing the different perspectives between here and there; I've become much less "North America-centric because of it!
ReplyDeleteAll the animals are so beautiful, even when the land is so dry.
ReplyDeleteVery rural where you live.
Hello, Arija. Nice to meet you.
ReplyDeleteIt seems so strange, that you should be starting Autumn when are just getting our spring. Nature's a funny old girl. I love seeing other parts of the world this way.
A handsome looking canine you have there Arija... I think your dog eats better than us...
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful photo essay!
ReplyDeleteYou're going into Autumn and us into Spring. It's easy to forget we don't all enjoy the same things at the same time.
I love that third photo - beautiful landscape.
The wrens come for autumn instead of leaving? Interesting.
My Nature Notes is up too!
It is hard to imagine that autumn is starting for you while we have the first promises of spring here, in France. Thanks for sharing your photos.
ReplyDeleteWell Rex is quite the scene stealer isn't he - how could you resist that face? Quite adorable :)
ReplyDeleteLovely to see your farm. And the photos share so much feeling of the place. Very beautiful. Fun to see your pets.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the pictures of your farm. Will you get autumn rains? I know the drought down there has been terrible and I hope you get some relief very soon.
ReplyDeleteWonderful post about what's going on where you live. I love the shots of the fields and animals. It's interesting to me how you are entering fall while we're entering spring. I remember Australian bloggers entering spring as we entered fall. It's fun seeing the differences.
