surprised at this fiery display so far from the east

I turned full west and stood amazed.....reaching
right to the ground like a full blown sunset, the
rising sun had painted all the sky!

  8. I don't think they have a word in our english language to describe how beautiful these photos are. You can say "breathtaking", "stunning", "beautiful", but in reality...no word could ever do these scenes justice!

  32. There is a saying "Red sky in the morning, sailors warning, red sky at night, sailors delight" I bet the sailors were tying everything down tight that morning! Those are a wonderful series of photographs with such stunning colour. Thank you for sharing.

  51. You 're right about the climate, but it doesn't harm us if we save electricity, gas, water and food. It's not such a bad idea to look after the earth and handle her with kindness and care. The ozon layer is getting thinner, which is said that we are to blame for it. In the middle ages they had not many means to communicate, but we had no cars, no waste of plastic and other modern materials. There were no power-stations. Nature could restore itself faster than at this moment.

  73. These are beautiful pix. What fabulous colors.
    I've been taking my camera everywhere and I can't stop taking pictures of the sky. For some reason, I can't transfer them from my camera to my computer ---have to put them on my husbands, then on a CD and back to mine ---can't seem to pin him down long enough to help me.
