Thanks, I blush at your compliment.
Yes, the cactus flower does come from the same family as the Queen of the Night.

It is so kind of you to come by. Trust is a good thing but I wish I were.I suspect I am not only allergic to Beta blockers but Ace inhibitors as well. I am on a tiny dose but experiencing the same symptoms.
    I'll sort it out though.

  6. Even with a cheap camera ;-) you captured it well!

I also read your Wednesday post and I cried! What a memory! And how, even after 66 years past, it can still haunt our present. I am so glad you lived through those horrifying time.

  8. Beautiful flowers.I don't know what you call them, but I had a plant like it and it was a Christmas Cactus.Obviously it is not Christmas now,so the plant may be a little confused.

  9. Arija, don't cry for me! I am fine and ready for a new adventure. I am missing Gus and ready to join him on the east coast where there will be lots of new birds to ID! My family is all there and they are all anxiously awaiting my return. I will never forget Arizona and I have enough friends here that I know I will be back one day! Thank you for your love and concern and especially your prayers for my son!

  10. These flowers are so beautiful! A friend of mine has a plant exactly the same plant. I'll show her yours because they are so perfect.
Thanks for your comment. The worst part of the ceremony today were the stories of the comfort girls taken from the Indonesian people. They were too ashamed to tell their relatives about their plight.
You are right:The love of power is one of the greatest vices of humanity. It causes wars and suffering beyond understanding.

  23. dear Arija, your fotos are simply great ... hope you can recover well ... perhaps you might find something for better recovery in the internet: Dr.Rath ... health alliance. I got help with this nutrition supplement, but it is not medicine and does not replace any medication ... it strengthens good cells in the body, in difference of schoolmedicine, which kills bad cells and virus etc. perhaps it will help together, look at it and tell your doctor! best wishes from kri
