At last the winter rains have come, although today is the
first day of spring. all our water storage tanks are full to
overflowing, meaning that our water supply for household
needs for both houses is now secure for the next three years
with careful management. The dams are nowhere near full
yet but we are still hoping for some spring rains before the
summer dry sets in again.

WOW you have your own water supply? I grew up in Asia and I really wanted a deep-well for our home coz we used to have water delivered to our home tanks! And this was in a suburb close to a city!
ReplyDeleteNice shot. It must be nice to know that your water needs are taken care of for a while. Fall's just starting to arrive where I live, with cooler nights.
ReplyDeleteWe so take advantage of water; living with a well I am more conscious than I used to be--DH grew up in a city and thinks it is a nonstop flow....*sigh*....
ReplyDeleteLove the pic.

A neat picture, perhaps nature will grace you with some more spring rains, fill the reservoirs and moisten the parched land.
ReplyDeletebrilliant shot!

ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful news Arija. Will pray for more rain to fill the dam.
ReplyDeleteHOORAY!! Glory be to all that water! Having lived once in a drought torn area, I know that thirst...
ReplyDeleteoh, how is that? in here we hope for sun... but the photo is simply gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIt's great that water is available for a long while & I also hope more is coming to fill the dams. Some take water for granted until they go to a place where it's not as accessible.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week! :)
dear Arija, I should love to spend the rain in Austria to you, we have more then enough at the moment, it is too early for this time of year ... have a good time! Love kri
ReplyDeleteInteresting information. A great shot!! Happy Wednesday!

3 years of supply is impressive! Yesterday we got our first rainfall in about a month- our rainy season is only about three weeks away.
ReplyDeleteHow lucky we have been to fill our rainwater tanks Arija.Happy to see your recent visit and comment. I've seen Strath busy, but it was so quiet last Saturday afternoon, and the weather held out. Poor old volunteers on the train were a bit shaken by the derailment. Very disappointing for them, but made for a memorable day.
ReplyDeleteWow, three years supply of water is great! Hope the rains will fill the dams. You are very resourceful Arija.
ReplyDeleteThat is such good news Arija....Michelle
ReplyDeleteI am so happy that your parched area of the world has at long last had the chance to take a good deep, thirst-quenching drink.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear your water has come.. I'll keep my fingers crossed for more.. take care!!
