On Sunday I played hooky for half an hour or so and drove down
to the beach after dropping off my sister at the airport.
An occasional boat sailed by, a lone head bobbed in the water
and I tucked my long dress up my knickers and my camera
under my shirt. and braved the warm waters up to my knees.
The water was as warm as a bath inside the sand bar and sheer
bliss swirling around my tootsies, my soul sang and troubles
miraculously faded away.
in the wonder of the sea.

How delightful to "play hookey" and dip your toes in the sea. Haven't been salt water in a very long time.
ReplyDeleteSounds and looks like a wonderful place to be.

In the thick of snow, the sight of a beach such as in your first photo is enchanting! I love this picture. It dispels my longing to see the beaches in my homeland.
ReplyDeleteOnly half an hour? Maybe that is all it takes when there is such a beautiful sight. And warm water!

Arija, so glad you were able to enjoy a bit of peace and quiet and revel in the joys of nature! As for my blogpost, you might peek again. I had some formatting problems which I have now fixed.
ReplyDeleteAs for the bully upstairs, he is still there and we are in the midst of negotiations with the courts. Thank you for your concern. Sending love your way today!
This looks especially glorious, sitting here in my snow-covered world.
ReplyDeleteThe seaside sure is beautiful in summer! I wonder why the beaches were not crowded with people!
ReplyDeleteArija, these are all just radiant and lovely and you have the sunshine which I am so desiring right now. We are in the midst of winter's coldest temperatures here in the states and in great need of the warmth of the sun. Thank you for these glorious images as always~
ReplyDeleteLooks like you are enjoying summer when much of the world is knee deep in winter. I can see why your soul was singing on these beautiful shores!
ReplyDeleteLovely - you found serenity, peace and rejuvenation in the midst of normal beach activity. A gift for sure, to block out the world and be one with the sea.
ReplyDeleteMmmmmm, looks refreshing for the soul. What a great way to soak up the day.
ReplyDeletexoxo
I watched the last bit of Oprah in Oz. Did you watch?
ReplyDeleteOh to be there!
ReplyDeleteI hate winters, I hate the cold and I miss the beach so much.
Please enjoy for me!!!
Beautiful! I bet it was wonderful to wiggle your toes in the sand and warm water!
