Wild Bird Wednesday - Never count your chickens . . .

I am partially back on line again. The reprieve in the last post
did not last long. An apparently endemic problem in the hinge
to a number of Macbook airs also attacked mine and cut out
access to the net.

With lots of detours in the delivery of my new Macbook Pro,
now, a month later, apart from not having photoshop installed
yet, I am cautiously back in business again.

It is the end of summer and today we are having, what I
hope, is our first autumn rain.

I have no idea what nature is up to these days, these house
sparrows are obviously building nests. In autumn??

Judging by the news from States further north along Australia's
east coast, they seem to be having frightening flood event
with loss of life on an almost monthly basis while our
state has seen hardly a drop of rain all

With thanks to Stewart for hosting this great meme.

  1. It's good to hear from you again. Hope that you are enjoying each day as well as possible.

  2. So good to see you back online, Arija! I've missed your posts! Love the little birds -- perhaps they're as confused by the weather these days as we are!! It does seem to be strange weather almost everywhere -- certainly here in the states as well! Hope your week is going well and, again, welcome back! May all go smoothly with the new computer plus!!! Oh, and I do love your blue, blue skies!

  3. Glad you are back and hope it is permanent this time.

  4. We are flooded in at the moment here in Qld they tell us the rain will be back on Friday so we hope the river has time to drop a bit before then.Beautiful photos.

  5. So sorry about your PC problems.
These are wonderful shots to return with.
I've read and heard of all the different situations in Australia. Hope you get the rain you need and hope your able to stay online. :)

  6. Welcome back. I have missed you.

The weather here in Canberra is weird too. We have had a very hot summer, with negligible rain. For the last few days we have had very welcome showers - while other parts of the east coast are inundated. Never rains but it pours has been true for so many areas.
I am hoping that the weather will soon start to cool down and that we get some more of this welcome gentle rain.

  7. It looks like another sparrow just doing its own thing! Hope your computer problems are now sorted out. Good to see you back blogging.

  8. Good to see you back online. Having computer issues is no fun. Strange to see your little birds building nests in the fall!

  9. Sure hope you get some much needed rain but without the flooding. Take care my friend.

  10. Arija, I am happy you are back online. It does seem weird to see a bird building a nest in Autumn. Is it a little late? I have been hearing about the awful flooding, my prayers go out to all those affected. Wishing you a happy day!

  11. Please do not mention systematic faults in a product I bought a few weeks ago! It makes me nervous!

Hope all is well and that you have a better grasp of the seasons than the sparrow!

Cheers and thanks for linking to WBW.

  12. Great shots. Sorry about the tech problems. Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.

  13. Glad to see you back! Maybe the birds are confused. I know I am with all the weird weather!

  14. nesting in fall. interesting. i hate the floods and fires your country suffers through.

  15. Hi Arija.. So nice to see your posting again, glad that situation is over!!
Ya I have heard of the extreme dryness and parts where there is extreme flooding , I will take snow any day over some weather events ; )
Those are confused Sparrows, looks like nesting material to me , what's up with that, crazy weather and crazy birds : )
    ♥ Grace

  16. Glad its sorted now. Lovely photos. The sparrows think the coconut fibre in my hanging basketS are a godsend for nesting materials. They'd be spoilt for choice where you live I'm sure!

  17. Hard to know what those birds are thinking about, but they sure are cute to watch as they build.

The weather has been weird everywhere it seems. I am afraid I might know why.

Hope your computer problems are fixed for good. In one way I am glad to hear that's why you were "absent" from blogland. I hate computer problems, but I'd rather hear it was that than to do with your own health.

  18. Arija, computer troubles can be so annoying and frustrating at times that it is tempting to just give up. I am so glad that you did not! I hope all is well in your own nest!

  19. LO ojitos atentos sin perder ningún detalle.Me gusta mucho.

  20. Hello Arija, I am sorry to hear about the flood and the loss of lives in Australia :( The climate change in a fact but the humanity continues to destroy the nature of the Earth without thinking that it is our unique home. Your (female) House Sparrow photos are great captures. Have a great weekend,

  21. Last clutch of the season for the Finches I assume, they are as confused with the weather changes as we humans. I have heard of the flooding and that is always such sad news. Hoping you ease into your Autumn well and so happy you are back up and running. You were missed~

  22. It's great to see you again. Ah Apple products seem to be getting more problems these days. I still like them though. So I should not count my chickens but how about my eggs? :) Great to see you again, Arija. Love.
