TODAY'S FLOWERS 21 Mid-Winter Flowers

It is mid-winter here and to have anything flowering
in the garden is a gift from heaven.



A self-seeded Primula in a hanging basket.



My burgundy leaved Geranium flowers all year round.



A clump of the earliest of Jonquills in the overflow dithch
of the dam, planted abour 13 years ago. Please enlarge.

Forgive me for not visiting this week, see post below, I

  3. I have seen the flowers (3rd photo), now I have a name, jonquills. I don't think I have seen a purple leaf geranium before.

  14. Love the Primulas and used to plant them a lot, but went into oblivion for a long time. The dark coloured geranium is very ornamental, have not seen one with dark leaves. Early Jonquils, happy to see them.
    Sorry to read that your brother has passed away. It is always hard to say goodbye for ever.

  24. So ist die Welt recht unterschiedlich, dort Winter und hier Mitsommer.
    Schön wenn man dann doch kleine Farbtupfer in der Natur hat.
