Spring has sprung although it still is winter
the (Snowflake) bells are ringing in
almond blossom time
opening buds under a cloud cover
a little more light and a blossom with eight instead of
four petals - will it bear twin almonds
we will never know since the parrots get the kernels before I do
a break in the clouds and pretty buds show their colour
finally a shot against the light
whatever the weather, they manage to lift ones spirits

Frühlingsgefühle fein eingafangen in wunderschönen Bildern.

ReplyDeleteI love them all!
oh, those snowflake bells are beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteSo lovely to see the first signs of spring with beautiful blooms. Yet that does mean that fall is on the way here, followed by winter. Brrr.
ReplyDeleteHow very beautiful. We also have (a few) snowflakes out and the daffodils and jonquils are starting to take a run at spring. Such an exciting time of year. How is your health? Better? I do hope so.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful almond blossoms!
ReplyDeleteAren't those snowflake-bells the prettiest flowers with such delicate detailing .... I love their little green dots.
ReplyDeleteSo lovely to see early spring flowers. Your photo treatment perfectly brings on their delicate nature. I would love to have the whole series of photos hanging on my wall...because we don't get to see these wonderful blossoms much any more and I have such good memories of spring. (It is because in early spring we are usually still in Florida which is too warm for these beauties).
ReplyDeleteA lovely series of captures, Arija... and Spring sure is keen to be "sprung" !
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures.
ReplyDeleteYour spring flowers are lovely.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blossoms. I keep forgetting its another time of year down there.
ReplyDeleteThank your for featuring the almond blossom Arija - family were only talking yesterday about the two beautiful almond trees we grew up with - great for us growing up to climb in, read in, and of course much fun shelling and eating the almonds. I love almond blossoms.
ReplyDeleteHard to think that you are getting into spring!!! That means we must be approaching fall...
ReplyDeleteThat last image is my favourite, with the almond blossoms backlit by the sun!!
The almond blossoms are beautiful! I like the little green dots on the snowflake bells, it looks as though someone has painted them on there.
ReplyDeleteIt does feel like the world is still turning - but I rather like winter!
