TODAY'S FLOWERS & I Heart Macro - Blooming Marvels!

Three weeks to winter and the garden in a Blooming Marvel

roses and geraniums have gone crazy on the gate in front

even in behind the apple tree on the back fence

they smile at the darkening clouds

the orchids are scratching their heads
and have gone into flowering mode.

The temperatures have taken a dive and I have to cover up my
tomatoes and lettuces at night as I shiver in my boots.

Seems I'll have to invest in some kind of heater for my little
shack, sitting in the evening in a very cold room
can get a bit waring
no matter how hardy you think yourself.

OUR WORLD & Nature Notes - The Joys of Farm Life

Cute piggy at the gate

doing a great job of digging
unfortunately not where it is NOT wanted

it is cold, miserable and very wet
and guess why I got no apples from my espaliered
and covered trees - possums :(

but when the sun pops out, there are compensations!

It hasn't been a great week for photography.

SkyWatch ~ Another Sunrise, what else?

I do not apologise for the quality of this photo. I was janked
out of a deep sleep to the sight of this reflection on my western
window having entered my room through the matching eastern
window.
*
Needless to say, I levitated already with camera in hand and
was outside like a shot!
*

*
I dashed along the whole front of the house and half way into
the garden to get a clearer view . . . ta dah!
*

*
Not bad at all as far as colour goes, so I snapped another as the
light changed, then, frozen through in my nighty and chilled to
the bone with dew-wet feet half way up my legs, I cold footed
it back into my nice warm bed. All for what I hear you ask?
Well, just to show you the sunrise two mornings ago. Devotion
to duty that's what!

Watery Wednesday ~ Crosshatching and Spots

Blue water like woven cloth, seldom have I seen the like.
*

*
A surprisingly polka dotted pond for the black swan to sail on.
I rather liked the effect.
*

*
These are from my archives. The weather has been cold and
wet, not really conducive to wandering about with a camera.

Thanks to 2sweetnsaxy we can sail on many waters...just click the Logo.

Watery Wednesday ~ Ducks Dabbling at Dam

It is winter, it is cold but with a little water about, the ducks
are thinking of the mating season to come.

TODAY'S FLOWERS ~ Blue and Gold

With cold wet winter here our once blue skies have turned to
grey though smiling still in bright blue pots of Lobelia.

A stray gold Rose still blooms defiantly, hoping against hope to
be last in line for pruning.

The world is full of flowers, click the Logo and enjoy!
With thanks to Luiz Santilli Jr. and his team for providing and
co-ordinating this meme.
