OUR WORLD - More of the Amazing Sunrise Light

Continuing from last Friday's SkyWatch, here is a little more of 

the same sunrise light turning the rocks red.

This is just a little sample of the rocky road and here it had been 

graded since  the great rains that had all the creeks rushing and

locking down all roads to and from Arkaroola Village.

As usual, the brightest red was on the rocks supporting solar cells

and satellite dish. Ah well, only Allah is perfect . . .

I saw the light turning the hills over the ridge a bright gold but

try as I might to scramble up the hill to a vantage point, I only

managed to catch a tiny glimpse of it.

The road ahead still had some of the sunrise red but

look back and the magic seems gone. There will be more of the 

glory in Friday's SkyWatch.

For those of you who commiserated with my two flat tyres, my

guardian angel stood by for both. The first one at Wirrealpa station 

went down over night and the boys there fixed it for us. We ourselves 

had no hope of even changing it as the oil had leaked out of our jack

and it was rendered useless. The second tyre expired as we were 

checking in at Arkaroola and luckily they had a compatible tyre and 

another arriving the next day. I had both damaged tyres replaced, just to 

be on the safe side, so it was mainly the $800.00 that was the painful bit.

Red geraniums in the sunlight this morning in my garden.

With the light shining through them there is even a Christmas

star shining through.

Thank you Luiz for steering us along a flower strewn path for

another year. It has been a very pleasant journey.

TODAY'S FLOWERS ~ Dressed all in Red

Tis the season to be jolly and my flowers are joining in.

The garden is a blaze of green and red.

The Christmas cactus has in excess of 40 blooms on it.

The poppies are pulling their weight in spades, come rain

or shine, they glow like freshly polished fire engines

and guess what? The bees love them as much as I do.

TODAY'S FLOWERS ~ Roses Again

Here are some of the roses in my front garden, unfortunately
they are just fading and apart from them there are just two white
Oriental Lilies in a pot to give me consolation.

This bed of roses is in tones of pink, except for 'Avon', the one

touch of red as contrast.

In the back garden most roses are in the inbetween phase.

Below is 'Perle d'Amour', the flowers are only just over 1"

across but sweetly perfumed and profuse in repeating.

SkyWatch ~ 52 Tha Sun Always Rises...

Spring is moving along and pretty sunrises are no
longer the order of the day so when I saw this, I was
out like a shot with my camera.



Cold it might have been but the colour changes with
the change of angle of the camera were spectacular.



From purples back to gold and reds and back again



it was hard to say which way to look...



one minute the sky was aflame, cooled down again,

only to roar into a raging inferno once more. What a sky show!

SkyWatch ~ 43 'Only Five Minutes More'

Here are five minutes more of the same sunrise
I showed you last week. Please enlarge to enjoy.

4.38am a beautiful pale gold sunrise giving no
indication of what was to come



4.40am the first colour tinging the clouds above



4.41am a fire kindles in the sky and starts rising
to the clouds overhead



abating a little to reveal the pale blue beyond



mixing the colour palette from golds through blues
to reds and purples



to finally tip a whole bucket full of red fire accross
the sky above me and all around.

The experience was totally awe inspiring,

like a rain of curling, swirling fire!
