This little fellow serenaded me from his perch on my TV
aerial all spring long.
My bedroom is directly below and he
did a great job singing me to sleep for my post-prandial nap.
At first he would take off as soon as I lifted my camera
but soon came back again.
I'll post some better pictures and continue this little tale when
my iPhoto can be unfrozen so I can shift them to Photoshop,
it is such a bother at the moment.
I have no Idea why it is being so obstreperous.

I do love your colorful little bird! Delightful captures for the day, Arija! Things are really messed up blog wise and I can't do much of anything but try to stay in touch! Hope all is well with you!!
ReplyDeleteNot one speck of red on our Pacific Northwest goldfinches. Mind you, this dapper fellow makes up for that completely ... oh, so handsome!
ReplyDeleteStunning little bird. It is wattlebirds who wake me - before sparrow fart.
ReplyDeleteHa, ha, their 'song'?? is not quite so melodious.
DeleteWhat a beautiful bird you have to serenade you! I had to go to xenocanto to hear its song. Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI hope its song is as beautiful as its colors.
ReplyDeletePretty bird! It looks like he stuck his face in some red paint.
ReplyDeleteWhat striking images of a very colorful bird, Eileen. Great post
ReplyDeleteYour Goldfinch is a beautiful bird! Great shots, Arija!
ReplyDeleteWhat pleasure it is to hear these little songstresses when you wake in the morning--or nap! Very dramatic markings on head--and I love that last pose. Appreciate your frustration with getting good shots. There's several in my yard that are camera shy!
ReplyDeletehe's a beauty! i bet he sings beautifully, too.
ReplyDeletethose grackles landed underneath the bird feeder tree so were eating all the spilled seed from the bird feeders - very quickly, too. :)
I love it's red face!
ReplyDeleteDon't their songs just make you smile at the world!
ReplyDeleteThey love to play games....but you have a fantastic shot! Such a beautiful little bird.
ReplyDeleteI was surprised to see you have them down there. But that´s nice.
ReplyDeleteI really like these! Such amazing color on them. Lovely birds!
ReplyDeleteHow lucky to have this little singer perch near you...and he is beautiful besides!
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet little bird and your photos are delightful. Thanks for sharing them Arija :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous little birds!
ReplyDeleteWhat a little beauty!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful little bird and one I would like to see - but haven't done so yet.
ReplyDeleteWhat a unique little bird - so different from our goldfinches, but very beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure obstreporous technology is responsible for many of the ills of the world ... but happily, they can be counterracted by a little bird watching from time to time!!
ReplyDeleteHello Arija,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind visit to my blog!
I am glad you live in Australia since it is the place we are looking forward to live in: our son lives with his family in the Blue Mountains!
I didn't know you had Goldfinches there too, I haven't seen them when I was there!
Cheers!
A lovely bird, and something gorgeous to have around your garden. Good luck with the iphone.
