SkyWatch ~ and God Still Swung the Brush

Third and last week of the same extraordinary sunset.
Please do enlarge them, you will be rewarded.

not content with gentle washes, now the highlights come into
play

streaks of blinding gold career across the sky

mutating, softening into pink on blue and

ever so slowly deepening into the purple and blue

of oncoming night. A ghostly whorl of white among the darkening
clouds

as darkness turns the evening into the dreamy blue stillness
of the night.

If you have not enlarged any up to now, at least enlarge the last
one to get the full force of that magical blue.
My thanks to the SkyWatch team for the opportunity to take part
in this wonderful meme.

Just an Inbetween Post

Oops, I pressed the wrong box on a Greek post (sorry, don't
read Greek) and got a foreign post on my blog. Decided to
replace it with these charming little Thornbills.

They all enlarge, hope you enjoy them.

MY WORLD ~ Nostalgia Trip

I may be out of the woods, but not strong enough to travel yet
so I am taking you on a little nostalgia trip to the beautiful and
prosperous country town of Horsham, Victoria.

*
We like to make this our halfway house between Adelaide and
Melbourne, rather than over tax ourselves by doing the 700km
in one fell swoop.
*
I usually rise before the sun, take my camera and creep from
our motel room, taking care not to disturb the Prof. still gathering
strength for the road ahead.
*
I walk along the Wimmera river enjoying the light reflecting in the
water, then double back
*

*
past this charming old weatherboard house with its picket fence
that I have absolutely fallen in love with.
*

Rather neglected and complete with a lytch gate, just the place
for an elderly witch to grow herbs and gain the respect of passing
school childrn . . . .
*

Being a well to do town, it also boasts this beautifully restored
red letter box for the accomodation of His Majesty's mail.
Both now only of historical significance.

Thanks to the great job the MY WORLD Team do, we can all
share in pooling our favourite places.

TODAY'S FLOWERS ~ Blue and Gold

With cold wet winter here our once blue skies have turned to
grey though smiling still in bright blue pots of Lobelia.

A stray gold Rose still blooms defiantly, hoping against hope to
be last in line for pruning.

The world is full of flowers, click the Logo and enjoy!
With thanks to Luiz Santilli Jr. and his team for providing and
co-ordinating this meme.

SkyWatch ~ More Sunset

To follow on from last week's sunset . . .

Now the Great Painter swung the brush again

with traces still of red, yet turning more to purple hues

a quick stroke melds both pink and blue

bringing to light the last glow of the sun.

The wonder is not yet ended. To be continued . . .

All photos enlarge for more colour magic.

The Logo at right opens a wealth of skies around the world which,
thanks to our wonderful SkyWatch Team we can all enjoy and share.

MY WORLD ~ Seen in Sydney

Turning into lobsters on a Sydney beach,

then feasting on them in a restaurant

and, for good measure, a lovely little old lady who, with her
arthritic hands, still makes these intricate swans from tiny
pieces of precisely folded paper.

TODAY'S FLOWERS ~ As Autumn Turns to Winter

As winter sets in, the shadehouse is starting to produce an
occasional Orchid or two.

Lashed by late Autumn storms and drenched by sudden rain
squalls, a brave Rose still holds up her head.

The wind whistles around corners and all too soon these colourful
leaves on the Tree Peony will be just a memory.

All photos enlarge for greater enjoyment and the Logo at right
will take you to a wonderland of flowers.

Thanks to Luiz Santilli Jr. and the other brave souls who co-ordinate
this meme, we all have the chance to join in.
