Weekend Reflections - Windows and Water

These are from our trip last autumn. People and sails from

the out-door restaurant brought inside the empty indoor space

by the obliging window in between

and peaceful reflections in a placid river . . .

Weekend Reflections & Shadow Shot Sunday

No, not a rock in a desert rain storm . . .

this is our 60,000 gallon water tank that split it's stays when

we filled it to more than a third it's capacity.

It was built in 1935 and obviously had seen a bit of service in

it's time and decided it had had enough, so it shot out one side

and a roaring torrent washed out part of my newly planted

garden.

We were picking up large pieces of concrete and brick for weeks,

thank God no one was in it's way when it happened.

If it ever got cold enough here, we could have our own skating rink,

as it is, the distressed wall makes a great background for a fashion shoot.

Watery Wednesday ~ Creek Crossing

In the North Flinders Ranges the country and driving gets a

bit rugged. What seems like a puddle from a distance,

Is a little different once you are in it.

A view to the left

and heading out again. As you can see by the steep bank, one

seldom can gauge how deep it is in the middle or whether the

flash flood has dug some axle breaking holes in the ford.

This time we were lucky.
