Got up early this morning and went to the country market.
That was a joy in itself -
after getting all the greens for the piglets and some provisions
for myself,
I also treated myself to a pot of chrysanthemums in this
lovely bright and joyful shade of red.
Although the sun had hidden, they still glowed
and brandished their golden centres like beacons.
My one and only flowering rose had bestirred itself and was
catching up on lost time over our too dry summer.
Two bright spots in my heart and garden.
Hope there are some in yours too!
Both are gorgeous!!! I think my favourite is the rose, though!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful red, never seen mums in that shade!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet, that the roses decided to put on a great autumn show.
Vienna is awash in Flieder - lilacs - their fragrance wafting in the air wherever one walks. With the Flieder, tourists by the busloads, literally, are invading the center this afternoon. Went out to lunch with my family, but then home. Will get up early tomorrow and walk around town like I did yesterday. The light is better, and the city mostly deserted (tourists here like to have breakfasts at the hotel, getting out late).
A wonderful Sunday to you, Arija,
big hug,
Merisi
So much beauty, Arija! I love the colors! Always wonderful to have colorful flowers in the house! My window full of plants are blooming right now and I do enjoy them so much! Hope your weekend is off to a great start! Enjoy!
ReplyDeletewow, they are bright and beautiful! good for you!
ReplyDeleteNothing like beautiful blooms to lighten our spirits. I hope you're having a lovely weekend, Arija. (((Hugs))) Jo
ReplyDeleteNice shots of the Chrysanthemum and rose. Love the red colour bright and cheery.
ReplyDeleteThe chrysanthemums are so bright and cheerful. The rose is also lovely.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers. It is good to be surrounded by nature's beauty.
ReplyDeleteIt's so nice to bring this natural bright color into your life.
ReplyDeleteDid the same Arija, but bright red carnations for me, not the spindly leggy variety but compact and sweet, and happy to keep company with some white allysum. Your chrysanthemums are lovely - great choice!
ReplyDeleteBoth lovely Arija but I cannot help preferring the simplicity of that rose.

DeleteUnfortunately it is quite small group-cover rose and all around are rank weeds. I just needed a bit of red to give me some energy and in autumn, at least one chrysanthemum is an essential part of my being.
ReplyDeleteHi! Beautiful captures. Wishing you a wonderful Sunday.
ReplyDeleteAnd glow they do. Those roses are gorgeous too Arija, thanks for sharing them :)
ReplyDeleteArija I totally agree with you about the difficulty of photographing red flowers. It helps if they are somewhat shiny, or at least not completely soft and matte. Shiny anthuriums are easy! I use a Canon powershot s95 and wonder if it's a canon problem. The primroses you admired were mostly purple, so that helped. And your roses are so, so pretty.
ReplyDeleteWhile I really like your new potted chrysanthemums, and their colour is filled with spark and love, I also truly love the delicate and subtle beauty of your 2 Roses...just maginifcent beauty from one pale, to one bright and bold, and both so glorious~ Happy week to you Arija~
ReplyDeleteSo pretty and bright!
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by :)

A market day and also flowers - reason enough to feel uplifted. I love the delicate rose.
ReplyDeleteNice pictures - you dont have to have clocked up three score and ten to know that the world has changed. The last time I was back in the UK I noticed that many of the shops and such like that we used in our village are now holiday homes called "The old..........." (insert type of shop) - and everybody has to drive out of the village to even buy milk!

Beautiful red color on that mum! So cheerful.
ReplyDeleteYour red bouqet is full of spirit and freshness. Love red!
