Adelaide Rosella sitting pretty on one of my Thuja
looking longingly for more of the silvery seed pods
checking if I am still there
and striking a pose, "is this my good side?"
all the seed pods off all three Thujas have now disappeared
as if by magic.

ReplyDeleteI planted 10 of those trees once and I have a single one left. I thought they were to have been fast growers, but my one, is as slow as molasses at growing. The bird is sure a beauty and large, or small, I doubt I shall ever see anything as pretty in my trees~
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful and exotic looking bird.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard of an 'Adelaide' Rosella before and beautiful it is; you got lovely shots of it at top of pine tree - like a good Aussie Christmas tree decoration; replaces the star
ReplyDeleteArija such a pleasure to see these Rosellas. I love their bell like call. Here they are quite rare. Your Pictures are like paintings, such soft subtle colours.
ReplyDeleteI am just amazed with the bird life in your part of the world!
ReplyDeleteIt's a very striking bird Arija - such colours!
ReplyDeleteVery nice bird - I like the less "in your face" colours of this Rosella.
ReplyDeleteCheers - Stewart M - Melbourne

What a beautiful bird, lovely colours!
ReplyDeleteNever seen before.
Is the Rosella a type of parrot? It certainly is beautiful and seems very tame ... not at all concerned that you are standing there with your camera. Beautiful shots,Arija ...
