This bear of very little brain has been scraping it up
and pouring it back in it's ear holes.
Today as the heat soars again, I am wearing ear plugs in the hope
of keeping what is left, where it should be.
The last pot of Oriental lilies did not fare well, all but one
flower were baked before I could get them inside
where it is not much better although my block out curtains
were securely close before the sun thought of
raising her sleepy head.
So today I am posting all white flowers in the hope of
enticing some of the snow besetting N.America to cross the
Equator and head our way..
Above, a 6' high bush of bell flowers
below, a tiny European wildflower dancing on it's
delicate stem.
Another joy of springtime, pristine white Primulas
and the only unblemished bloom on my Oriental Lilies.
Please forgive me if I do not manage to visit much,
I will be spending most of the day flat on my back to stop my legs
ballooning. Heat waves are not much fun when your
fluid intake is restricted to a maximum of a litre and a half.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures. That heat must take it's toll on plants, people and animals.Stay well.
ReplyDeleteOh drat...there is nothing at all wrong with your brain, but I don't think even you can make it snow in summer. I am so sorry for all the heat and it would be nice if people could send you some of their excess cold. Take care.
ReplyDeleteAnd the white spring flowers are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteLovely blooms even with the heat. There must be a middle weather ground somewhere!
ReplyDeleteOh my - a litre and a half is not much in this weather is it!
ReplyDelete45 degree heat today - I am thinking of you. This must indeed be trying for you Arija as you make the best of a very challenging situation.
We got a lot of snow on Friday. I wish I could send you some!
ReplyDeletehi Arija. Sorry you are suffering in the heat and not bale to drink enough water to help cool you down. Cold showers is the answer, that is what I did when I was in hot countries. It does work. I love the coolness of the white flowers. have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteUnd wiederum eine wundervolle Blumenserie, Arija, tolle Aufnahmen.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Jetzt haben wir genug Schnee hier ;-)
So sorry about the loss of your orchids but those wildflowers are a beautiful replacement. Keep those feet elevated please.
ReplyDeleteWonderful lilies!

Ruby

ReplyDeletehee hee...
ReplyDelete«Louis» understands the brain issue. He can't brain today. He has the dumb...and it has nothing (unfortunately) to do with heat...
Wonderful photos - I love especially the first one where you can see a waterdrop on the flower... Lovely set of photos for sure!!
ReplyDeleteYour white flowers are real beauties Arija, thanks for sharing them. It sounds terribly hot over there, I hope you get some relief soon. I wish I could send you some snow :)
ReplyDeleteLovely pics
ReplyDeleteOh Arija, I'm so sorry this heat wave continues and you are so terribly uncomfortable. Our roof is finally bare of snow this morning, but a new storm is on the way. I wish some rain would come to you. Your photos are beautiful as always. Thanks for sharing the love up-close with I Heart Macro:-)
ReplyDeleteIt is a joy to be seeing your summers whites in blossoms as I lookout at my winter white snow! I am truly enjoying our Canadian winter snow fall after snowfall! I have taken to hiking and trudging through the deep snow each morning!
ReplyDeleteWe are wishing for what we don't have but it is better to be present in the moment we do have. I have learned to enjoy winter and all it's magic! Winters can be harsh at times but the sun does come out occasionally and warm things up. A white wonderland is what we experience this year. All is hushed with the gardens resting beneath their thick blanket of snow.
ReplyDeleteI know you think if you could sit out in the snow it would cool you off and that it would. I find that I don't have as much inflamation in joints during winter walks.
The white flowers are lovely. I hope your terrible heat wave ends soon.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful white flowers. I love snow, you can't have ours :)
ReplyDeleteSo full of life and light and color! So warm!
ReplyDeleteOh, Arija! Sure wishing you relief from that heat!
