TODAY'S FLOWERS ~ Memories of Summer

It is cold and wet and so nice to dream of summer and
glowing poppies.

Buzzing bees enjoying the time of plenty,

a free for all for all comers. Ah, summer . . . .

OOps, forgot about the searing heat!

  1. Seems like we should enjoy one season at a time. Beautiful flowers.

  2. Oh yes Arija - it is the same here. When the season has gone we only remember the good days - the searing heat, the freezing cold - all disappear and we remember the blazing log fires and the gentle summer evening. Perhaps it is just as well.

  3. In spite of more rain and gray clouds than I care for -- our temps are never at the extreme on either end. I do love that! And when we have beautiful days like this weekend it makes all of the rain worth it. But having lived in Texas and Montana, I do know about extremes!! Beautiful post as always and gorgeous, colorful flowers! Take care, enjoy!

    Jaukas atmiņas par vasaru...
Mums Latvijā beidzot ir sākusies ļoti karsta vasara.

  5. Love the poppy photos!
I dream to live where the climate and soil is *just right* for an abundance of them.....alas, I am stuck here where they refuse to thrive.
    I enjoy vicariously. ;-)

  7. We had a month of sun and only today we got some rain, which we need. Everything is so dry now and there are bushfires, which are difficult to extinguish, for the soil often consists of peat, which keeps smoulding under the surface.I hope that you will get a mild winter. The poppies are lovely!

  16. These photos are just lovely Arija! Always a pleasure to stop by your blog. As for the heat, it's bad here but today I plucked my first berries (Indian blackberry) and things like that make me forget summer's unkindness, temporarily.

And thanks for your comment!! I'm still grinning!:)

  19. Oh MY, those poppies are beautiful. It's good to see the fuzzy bees having a merry time. And your cottage stay sounded very relaxing! Wish I could stow away in your suitcase.

  20. Aaah, yes, dear Arija, you did sort of forget about the heat;) But, oh yes, the flowers are superb, and the bees are thriving, and the colours have been vibrant...oh but that as it takes place in my world for now, as you shiver in the cold.
Yet a promise, that we shall once again change places, in the not too distant future. Those Poppies are superb Arija~
