TODAY'S FLOWERS ~ Mystery Flower

While in Sydney, I met this very odd looking, very bright
flower just peeping out of its fire-engine red sheath.

When it opened up it looked like a bouquet of tiny Irises with
that brilliant red wrapper. I suspect it to be a Bromeliad, ah,
but which one?

  7. Oh goodness, how unusual! I thought it resembled a crab claw at first. It's very pretty once in bloom, though. What a great color combination!
