TODAY'S FLOWERS ~ A violet
The gentle violet at my feet
sweet perfume wafting
on the ambient air
like love long lost
that vaguely lingers
in the early spring.
The scent in passing
holding memories so sweet
oh gentle little violet
blooming at my feet.

The violet is such an exquisite little flower, and I enjoyed your lovely poem and beautiful photograph.ReplyDelete
Oh how this reminds me of the masses of violets I have in the Spring, the purples, and pale blues, the bicolors....I love them all!ReplyDelete
I think your words summed it up far better than mine!
Mmmmm .... violets smell wonderful!ReplyDelete
Wonderful is right!ReplyDelete
So pretty.Violets are charming.ReplyDelete
Very sweet and dainty and touching words! Hmm, I could smell it!ReplyDelete
Lovely text and images. Violets are not loud or showy, they quietly go about their work of transforming a field, a lawn, a median into something softer and gentler. Nicely captured.ReplyDelete
I love the little violets a blooming at your feet.ReplyDelete
How delicate they are spread into a forest carpet to entice one to wander off the trail. A wonderful sign of spring.
Thanks for sharing these Arija as I haven't seen violets in a very long time.
Exquisite is the word! Love the colors, the violet and your beautiful words, as always, Arija!ReplyDelete
Enjoy the moment, my friend!
Beautiful Arija, my Nana had an African Violet in her home for a million years and this reminded me of it.ReplyDelete
Oh and Arija, I couldn't agree with you more about Afghanistan.
Love Renee xoxo

Yes, enjoy the violet while you can - it is worth it. And thank you for the comment :-)ReplyDelete
I enjoyed this post about the violet. I have been trying to get rid of them here as they were growing wild and are extremely invasive. Just about got them gone except for some growing in and around a large rose of sharon bush. It is a never ending job. They are also beautiful if I could keep them in one place.ReplyDelete
Thanks for these lovely flowers and the wonderful accompaning words!ReplyDelete
Thanks for the visit and comment. I hope it's not too hot for you!!

Oh - you have a lovely violet! They are so pretty! Like blue eyes watching over the forest!ReplyDelete
Your poem is lovely, Arija!
Funny little flower. If I try and grow it somewhere it often reacts negatively but where a couple of seeds fall it will turn into a beautiful carpet.ReplyDelete
